    Scoring balance

CW's post about Ejim getting Rookie of the Week led me to check season stats, which I hadn't checked for a few games.

Five players averaging in double figures through 11 games.
    SC 16.5
    DG 16.3
    Edge 13.3
    Jake 12.2
    JVB 10.0

Granted, the depth issue is going to inflate that somewhat (and scoring contribution drops off the cliff after those five) ... but at least among those five, there are scoring threats across the board.

    Re: Scoring balance

Its called scoring balance when only 5 guys on scholarship can really score lol.

I love our offense tho. I thought yesterday we were way too unselfish. We gave up way too many wide open shots.

Great numbers, but interested to see how this ends up after we start in the Big 12 games

I don't know if Big 12 will change overall dynamic or at least I don't know in what way it would change (unless scoring averages simply drop across the board, which is possible).

I think the balance will remain for the most part, unless something changes to make ISU go to one or two guys as The Scoring Threat.

JVB's average might drop if early fouls become a bigger issue. If Godfrey picks up that slack, it could be OK.

Better than George, when two of your other sons are named George.

    Re: Scoring balance

Depth will be a major issue in the big 12. Foul trouble will be a continuing battle.
Things seem fine and dandy now, but I think ISU fans should prepare for the worst when conference play arrives. Remember how great the team looked last year at this point too? The grunt of the schedule is has yet to come.

Regardless, this brand of basketball is fun to watch. Hoiberg and company are the real deal.

    Re: Scoring balance

Things have improved greatly after DG and JVB were the only guys to score during the first half of the first game this year. :)
