    Malzahn to Vandy?

Apparently Vandy is going to announce the hiring of Auburn's Malzahn as their new head coach. Cheesehead's empire may be starting to crumble...

Beware of Chizik calling Herman...he knows him and likes his offense. And he has a lot of money to spend. We are fortunate to have Tom Herman at Iowa State.

    Re: Malzahn to Vandy?

Honestly, without Malzahn as OC, Auburn wouldn't be nearly this good. He's a great coach, and all of their offensive coaching is due to him.

    It'd be a great hire.

Malzahn is Auburn. Chizik is just a pawn.

    Re: Malzahn to Vandy?

The big question is whether Malzahn will coach in the championship game. Typically, that is the case in these situations, but who knows.

If Herman goes I won't lose any sleep. Then CPR can go get Steve Loney to come back to ISU as OC. Some of our best offense was when Loney was here.

    Re: Malzahn to Vandy?

ISU put up some huge yardage games with McFarland in 08, and scoring 30 points on a regular basis wasn't that far fetched, even though run blocking was completely ignored in his offense.

I do seem to recall the damn power run game would try to rear its ugly head inside the 20 though. Always made me wonder WTF was going on, or who was over-riding the calls from there?
