FOOTBALL COMMITMENT: JUCO QB Steele Jantz

I'm hearing that Iowa State just received a commitment from Steele Jantz, a 6-foot-3, 205 pound QB out of City College of San Fransisco. I have yet to confirm this information with Jantz himself but will attempt to do so here soon.

Nice, more competition to push every QB on our roster to the limit.

WOW. Looks like Rhoads is taking the Jon Gruden approach. I really think we were a consistently good QB away this year from being 8-4 and winning the north.

Thanks for the info Chris. Also are you hearing anything about Nealy and Henderson's visit?

Hope the receiving corps can hang on to his passes. Otherwise it won't mean ****.

Agree. not a knock on Arnaud really, he played his freaking heart out, but he wasn't a consistent enough passer for our offense. Although better D-line play would have made the year even better rather than having to rely on our LB's and secondary so much for tackles. I really don't understand how we can't get some stud DT to come in and play from day 1. we really need help in the trenches.

I'm guessing he committed because he was told he'll have a good chance to start next year.

Really? I was under the impression it was going to be a little difficult to win the North starting next season, considering divisions cease to exist

This would help too. If we do get a consistent QB he might just show how terrible our WR corps is. O-Line needs to be better too.

Interesting. I suppose anything can happen, but they must think he is going to start, otherwise they wouldnt bring him in.

What?! He said that we were a good QB from winning the North this year, aka 2010. I completely agree with his statement. He said nothing about next year.
