    Larry Eustachy

I've seen a couple mentions of him on different posts tonight. Anyone know how he is doing at his job now?

    Re: Larry Eustachy

he's sitting at a 6-1 right now with sourthern miss. he had a couple bad years when he first arrived there. followed by a couple good ones with a 20 win season in there but is roughly around the .500-.600 win pct there with little to no postseason play.

Last I heard yes. My brother-in law sold him his motorhome when he was coaching here and would'nt fly. He invited my wife to a cookout at his house because my BIL told him how big of a ISU basketball fan she was. I liked him as a coach before that, and even more after that.

He is doing ok as a snow removal man. He did suffer a little frostbite from all the early morning snow removal jobs a while back. Rumor has it he got beat-up by the neighbor of one of his customers for blowing snow too early in the morning.

I think you're confusing Larry with Wayne Morgan.

    Re: Larry Eustachy

I caught the last few minutes of his game against Ole Miss last Saturday night on ESPNU. It was a close game, but they ended up losing. When I turned it on, Larry was ****** about something and was really giving it to the refs. Brought back some nice memories, and really brought up a "what-if". What if Larry had still been our coach during the "phantom 3" game at KpUke. Usually that memory does nothing but raise my blood pressure for a few hours, but for some reason thinking about in the context of "What Would Larry Do?" brought a smile to my face. How different might the lives of Danny O'Neill, Paul Janssen, and Danny Hooker be if they had to face LE that day.

    Re: Larry Eustachy

I love Larry. Last I heard he was in the back of a jacked up tailgate.
Sittin’ ‘round watchin’ all these pretty things.
gettin' down in that Georgia clay.
    And I’ll find peace.
In the bottom of a real tall cold drink.
Chillin' with some Skynyrd and some old Hank.
    Lets get this thing started.
    It’s my kind of party.

You talk about the "phantom 3". YOu must know that 95% remember the Charge/foul called by the ahole Mountain West referees in Auburn Hills. Larry bit his tongue on that one for 3 or 4 minutes before he let them know their crap, biased play-calling killed us and denied the best team in probably a decade from fulfilling their destiny. F-bomb or not, I am glad he spoke truth to power and fought for Iowa State.

    Yeah, just saw that.

I would love to see LE back in the dance. I no longer wish we had him back now that Fred is in office, but I still would like to see him do well.
