I love that Fred Hoiberg is in the Iowa fan's head...

He's 4-1 against them as a player and a coach. Last night blowing a 9 point halftime lead and losing to the Cyclones is hopefully the start of Fred owning the Hawks!!!! It's obvious from reading their boards, that he's definitely feared and hated already by their fans. According to them there are a number of reasons why Iowa lost to ISU, not one of which is that Fred got his team to outplay the Hawks.

Some of the things they're talking about indicate that Hoiberg has completely gotten inside their heads:

    -No handshake before tip off

-Scotty "thug life" Christopherson's throat slash

-Recruiting a bunch of ex-con, gang member transfers

-Hoiberg is just a figure head and Lutz/TJ are really running the show (I guess that means Iowa should have just hired Lutz instead of Fran)

-Bringing an NBA mentality to ISU (I'll take that all day at ISU over the style of ball that GMAC brought)

why is everyone saying there was no pregame handshake? I just watched clips of the game on the websites of KWWL, WHO, and KCRG and they all showed Fred and Fran greeting one another, shaking hands and patting each other on the arm as the departed. Cripes! the stuff people get worked up about.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Iowa fans complaining about recruiting "gang" member and Scotty "thug". Come on Man!!!

Look at their football team, and scott is as far from thug as one gets (white kid from Wisconsin).

These people just can't live with losing to "little brother". They convince themselves that Iowa is so vastly superior to ISU and that they're God's gift to athletics, so when reality strikes, they will go off on pointless tangents to justify the fact that they suck.

They act like they have moral superiority, when in fact, they're football program has as many issues right now as any in college sports.

It's been a rough year for Hawk Fan. From an undefeated-national championship run in football to shambles. And now Fran with all of his vast experience gets outdone by a coach with probably the least talented ISU team this decade.

Funny Iowa fans accusing CFH of recruiting "thugs" in the face of the DJK incident (among all their other legal issues this decade)

It's just like the guy next to me who was screaming during their 1st half run "No way Iowa State can beat Iowa. We've got too much!!!"

He was less happy at the end because the "impossible" happened.

Or course, calling him "Whoreberg" is a bit much.

Iowa is saying the same things that mediocre to lesser college basketball programs say about Duke/UNC/Kansas, etc. If we are being talked about like that, then we are doing things right! I wish they talked the same way about us in football and other sports...that day will come.

Iowa fans are upset that yet again ISU made a better hire than they did. Dont you remember when Mac as at UNI he was their coach to be then when ISU hired him they claimed they never wanted the guy. It goes back to Floyd and Iowa fans wanting a coach like that so they hired Mr Me.

None of which have seen the floor yeat, not that I am calling them gang members...

I just hope people realize losing DG, JVB, and Anderson will hurt, a lot. I hope the hype is not just hype but lets not forget whats happening right in front of us this year. Cause it have been pretty fun to watch...

We're upset that ISU made a better hire? I still wouldn't trade McCaffery for Hoiberg... I don't know why you would think that Iowa fans envy ISU's selection of head coach. I think you are indulging in a bit of self flattery with this.

btw, nice game by the Cyclones... this loss hurt for me, but I realize this Iowa team has some deficiencies, even though I see vast improvement from last season.

My worst fears were realized for this game....

I wish Iowa would have gotten that stiff before us.
