    Iowa indoor waterparks?

Anyone have a favorite place to go in the dead of winter? Thinking of hitting one up with the kids for a weekend probably in January.
I have not been to one indoors, To my knowledge, there is the Wasserbahn in Amana, the new one at the Ramada on Merle Hay, and I think one in Dubuque.
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about them?

I have been to Wasserbahn...not too shabby but not amazing, a couple of slides, lilly pads, a play area with stuff to climb on and such for little kids, a sauna, I can't think of what else

There's a place not too far into MN that was really neat. It has a Surfing spot. It is about 3 hours from Ames.

If you really wan't to have a good time hit the Wisconsin Dells, loads of fun, the best indoor waterparks you are going to find, a little farther to travel but much better than any one you will find in Iowa. We stayed at the Wilderness Resort, loads of fun, and 4 different indoor water parks all are better than anything you will find in Iowa. Check out this web site for the Wilderness: http://www.wildernessresort.com/

The one in Dubuque is very nice, and you also have the Mississippi River museum right next door which is pretty cool.

As another poster mentioned, you won't find anything in Iowa as nice as Wisconsin Dells.

Been to the one in Dubuque. It was pretty nice, though I prefer Great Wolf Lodge (there's one in KC, not sure about Iowa).

    Re: Iowa indoor waterparks?

I predict in 5 years or less Iowa will explode with big indoor waterparks....its a perfect fit when we can only use outdoor ones 4 months of the year.

The dubuque and Amanas parks are both great for kids. The Dubuque one is nice in that its next to a casino so adults can have some fun too.

The one in MN is good. It's right across the highway from the Mall of America but I can't remember what it's called.

Waterpark of America is a Radisson Hotel and its on American Blvd in Bloomington.

Kings Island in Storm Lake is a little more affordable though.

Waterpark of America I think. I'm going there after Christmas with my girlfriends family.

Wisconsin Dells for sure. Kahalari has the most updated indoor, with a surf rider, it was awesome. Just about a city within the city.

Coco Keys at the Holiday Inn on 72nd st in Omaha is pretty cool. Also one at Honey Creek Resort at Lake Rathbun. It's a a bit small, but free if you're staying at the resort.

THis sounds like the one I was thinking of. We took some of our international students there over Thanksgiving break and they loved it. Depending how big your group is you can get a deal on the water price. They also have rooms for five people which would help keep it cheaper.

Also somewhat near by is Little Satswan (sp?) a great Chinese Resturant. I was told that it is like being back home in China. Even the Americans came back telling me how much better the food was!

I'd give Dubuque a B, Wasserban a B-. I think Wasserban is better for parents sitting around and drinking beer while the kids play.

This would be a little far for you, but there's also Fun City in Burlington. I'd give the waterpark a B but there's lots of other stuff to do, including bowling, go karts, lazer tag and a casino.
