This is probably news to CPR as well since I'm pretty sure his ballot is filled out by Tom Kroeschell.

The major reason why the Coaches' Poll is a joke.

It's also funny to hear all these coaches talking about bowl opponents, "Well, I haven't really seen much of so and so, but I'll start watching tape."

Oh, really? So, why did you vote them #[insert number] in your ballot????

Which part? I agree that the coach's poll is a joke

My buddy is a grad assistant at a school for bball and he does the voting b/c his coach doesn't care to do it. He loves it but it really doesn't make sense for him to do it

Of course, Bo Pelini ranked his team way too high. God, that guy sucks.

I don't think Newton should be playing, but with him they are clearly #1. Not a Chizik fan either.

Probably not true. I remember getting on the plane/bus after away games and Coach Mac on the phone getting updates of how teams faired and writing down his top 25 vote for the week.

Then you have inside information that I don't have.

Classically around the nation, the ballot is filled out by a person within the athletic department where it then receives a rubber stamp from the coach.

If Paul Rhoads takes several hours late Saturday night/early Sunday morning to review games/results/etc. and fills out the ballot himself, I commend him for it.

    That's cool.

Although this clearly illustrates what's wrong with the Coaches' Poll. A coach who spent all day preparing for his team's game, making a couple phone calls, checking a couple scores, and then filling out the ballot.

    Really?

Why's that make it wrong. He checks to see if all the ranked teams won if they did they stay the same and if someone ahead of them lost they move up. It isn't like the polls give re-shuffled every week. It's move up the winners and drop the losers, not to complicated.

This is correct. If PR does it great, but he would also be one of the few coaches that actually does it

Really? Where does this happen? Provide some evidence.
