Anyone ticked about our scheduling: Illinois @Fresno

If anyone is ticked about our scheduling... how about Illinois closing the season out at Fresno State.

Fresno State had some very good seasons around when this was likely scheduled.

Playing on the road against one of the best non-AQ programs last game of the year? BRILLIANT!

Ideally it wouldn't be against Fresno State, but Fresno isn't Utah either. Fresno has only finished ranked once in the final AP poll since Pat Hill came to Fresno in 1997 (#22). I'd be fine with it because it gives them 2 bye weeks too. The new Big 12 needs games on championship Saturday in the future and that would give you the two bye weeks. Farmageddon on the first Saturday in December would be cool with me.

Re: Anyone ticked about our scheduling: Illinois @Fresno

It is the last game of the year because with 11 teams someone has to either have their season done before the rest of the Big Ten or play a non conference game as the last game. Illinois (Fresno agreed) choose to move this game and last year's to this weekend from September and have 2 bye weeks instead of 1 during the season.

    YES! YES! YES!

This is a winner of an idea. This gives us a late season presence, eliminates crowd issues @ JTS as the student body will be on campus/no holiday conflicts, and gives us another bye.

Of course IT IS the first weekend of deer hunting, so I'm sure we'd still have plenty of fans bail, because our fans can't find enough reasons to avoid games, but I like the idea of ISU football still playing @ this point in the year.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

The one thing I would worry a little about is if Iowa caught a dandy snow storm that one day when everyone is traveling. That could really **** the deal. Other than that, I love the idea.

It's all snark from here on out

You do know that the only reason we avoided a return trip to Utah next year is the conference shakeups, right?

We scheduled ourselves out of a bowl game this year, and that is just not acceptable. I couldn't care less what Illinois is doing.
