Went to echo valley cc yesterday for golf and dinner. A great time had by all and the Grid iron club raised over $26,000 in the auctions alone. 2 trips for 2 to Texas Tech game with the team went for $5000 each.
Jamie Pollard talked about ticket sales a little bit. He also bashed the hawkeyes saying we might not be selling single game tickets to the Iowa game but at least we are not forcing our tv channel on to everyone if they want it or not. Also said Iowa over sold their tickets for the ISU game and they called wanting more but we didnt give them up. Some Hawk fans might be getting a call that they wont have ISU tickets.
Gene gave a great talk. He talked about the Big 12 media days and was saying he is the only coach in the big 12 who is undefeated. Also said we might not win every game but everyone that we play will know that they played the cyclones because we will be physical and in great shape.
Side notes: Golf was fun but very hot and sweaty. Winning score was a 57. (not my team). Coach Bolt was having fun. He had a few drinks and even saw him throw down a shot of tequila followed by a huge wad of Skoal.

Maybe the 150 tix that state senator got from them?? Oh, how I hope this turns out to be true!!!
Murphy looked toward the U of I for the tickets, which he said were purchased out of a joint House and Senate account used for fundraisers.
"We've got plenty of tickets left in our allotment," said Mark Jennings, Iowa associate athletic director. "People are not knocking our doors down for this game yet."
I know Jamie's policy irked some Hawk fans and they threatened to stay home, but I found it hard to believe that Iowa had plenty of tickets available when they peddled some to politicians. I'm sure there will be some mad donors if they don't get tickets and the democrats do.
