    We are not as good as Kent State and Vermont however.

    A few weeks ago it was at #7. Basically too early to mean anything.

    This can not be updated. Cal is stilling getting a Vote and they just lost. Not only lost but scored 5 points in the first half. I highly doubt they are still recieving a vote.

    Kind of interesting...KenPom has our win projection up to 19 for the year. It was 17. That would be huge.

    Let me see......what's the word I'm looking for here?

    Premature? Yeah, that'll do.

    I like our team so far, but let's not start making Final Four reservations just yet.

    Um, don't know if you can read or not but in the title he says "VERY EARLY". No one is making final four reservations yet.

    Well, I'm going to take your word as gospel here. As a Cubs fan, you're probably one of our experts on fanning the flames of early-season expectations.

    If we are, that would be one heck of a thing to celebrate!

    Cal has wins over New Mexico and 20th ranked Temple...that 5 point half will haunt the public's perception of them, but they actually have an impressive resume right now.

    Did you watch the Temple game? Both teams sucked. Cal won because they sucked less.

    I am a huge Cyclone fan, but also a realist. I am still going to be happy if we play hard and compete b/c we are going to run into much better competition soon, and on the road besides. I still would be happy with anything above .500

    Re: Very Early RPI Ranking -- ISU #21

    Okay guys..the RPI is a mathematical model, not voted on by human voters. Meaning, the model only becomes accurate/mature as it has more inputs. MEANING, we're like 1/5 of the way through the season, so it's not accurate.

    I'm just going to paste the formula and show why it's not accurate
    RPI = (WP * 0.25) + (OWP * 0.50) + (OOWP * 0.25)

    WP is the teams' winning percentage, OWP is their opponents' win percentage, and OOWP is their opponents' opponents' win percentage.

    Why is someone like Sam Houston State in the top 10 even though they're 1-1? Because they played Texas for one, and for example they play Colorado State who plays Kansas and most of the teams they play have winning records.
