    Nevada's offense

If Tiller is the guy next year, I hope our coaches really try to emulate Nevada's offense. It would let us consistently put Shontrelle and Woody on the field at the same time. Put Reynolds in as the flanker and Darks as the WR. I think it would be a potent look for us.

    Re: Nevada's offense

I see what you're saying, but we've been recruiting to a different offense and it'd be difficult to change it up and expect it to work. Just look at how long it's taking this scheme to be put into place (And there are various reasons and possible explanations as to why). Also, I think Tiller's running ability is a bit overrated. He makes long strides and is decently fast, but he's not that quick and won't blow past anybody.

    Re: Nevada's offense

We run a variant of the pistol, we don't usually use a second back in the formation though. We mix it in with our spread. Ideally, we can continue to use it with increased motion and playfakes to make the offense more dynamic.

Basically, I want a mix of Mizzou's spread and Nevada's pistol if that's not too much to ask.....

I think Tiller is pretty similar to nevada's qb.

No. Kaepernick is a record setting QB with a shot at the NFL.

I never said Tiller was as good, just similar in style.

    Re: Nevada's offense

The one thing I noticed about both the BSU and Nevada offense is the unpredictability and misdirection used. Neither offense was gimmicky or tricked out, just both OC's are very very good at keeping you guessing on what is coming all the while keeping it very balanced. I feel like our offense has a similar look and is trying to accomplish something similar and when we get rolling it seems to work ok, we are just way more predictable for some reason.

Since the shotgun and pistol are taken, can we call it the assault rifle formation?

    Re: Nevada's offense

About the only thing in common between Tiller and Kaepernick is their slenderness and quickness. Past that there isn't much.

We have used a Pistol formation with both Woody and A-Rob in the backfield. It was actually the first formation we ran against Colorado. Perfect for multiple looks and I expected to see it against Mizzou but it appeared Woody had a brace on his arm. Not good for running I presume.

Bet we see more looks next year. We debuted some new formations (Pistol) against NIU this year and I bet we do the same against UNI next September.

Maybe we need to use the Okie diamond.
