How many ISU Head Football Coaches - COY??

How many ISU Head Football Coaches went on to have at least one national COY honor(s) in the NCAA?? I suspect Johnny Majors did when he won National Championship at Pitt, but did Earle Bruce at Ohio State? Trying to determine if Gene Chizik will be the second or third. Gene has coached one hell of a season this year and deserves all the honors he will receive. Makes you wonder what would have happened had we been able to keep him at ISU with that extension offer. Continuity with a great coach is key to sustained success.

But he's gone, and he left only 2 years into the job. Some may underrate his performance here a bit, but excessive love for him certainly isnt justified either. His 5-19 can only be excused if it was in order to build something, and he didnt stay long enough to do that.

You didn't answer my question and only an idiot would have passed up the chance he was given.

Carrol was not a head coach and neither was Jimmy Johnson.

OP was head coaches, but if you're going to throw in assistants, I'm sure you can add Jimmy Johnson and Mack Brown.

Hahahaha. I logged in from my phone thinking there was a 75% chance rebecacy had posted something about Chizik.

    What do I win?

When a former ISU head coach gets coach of the year and has the fast track to a national championship, it might maybe possibly be noteworthy and a good topic for discussion. I'd post it on CR but my computer would meltdown ala "the china syndrome". Let's not forget a past president of the CGC proclaimed GC would never be successful anywhere in any capacity. There is a lot of crow that needs to be served up and consumed.

Maybe you missed where the SEC, NCAA, and FBI are investigating his program. The guy's a cheater and everyone knows it. You can't just ignore that.

Good Lord. Is Gene Chizik the only person ever associated with Iowa State who you don't have a vendetta against?

He's not a good coach. He's just lucky that his school paid the POY enough to come there.

Don't confuse hope for a plan.
