A-Rob vs Adam Robinson... this is crazy!

i was just comparing this year's stats for the two running backs, and they are almost identical...

A-Rob has 946 yds on 202 carries and 9 tds
Adam has 941 yds on 203 carries and 10 tds

    but A-Rob is still better!

Yeah, Adam had the advantage of a much better O-line to run behind and a legitimate passing attack that prevented opponents from stacking the box.

Opponents didn't stack that box? What games were you watching?

Teams couldn't stack the box against Iowa like they could against ISU...

That was one of the biggest complaints by fans against the coaches this year. Teams were stacking the box, and the Hawks still tried to run the ball. See: Michigan, Indiana, Northwestern

they weren't stacking nearly as much as ISU's opponents. if a-rob was a hawkeye (thank satan he is not), then he would have dominated!! if adam was a cyclone, nobody would ever talk about him

Couldn't disagree more. Both backs are solid, and both would do fine in each other's systems.

What he's saying is that Iowa had a legitimate passing game this year. At least before last week, Stanzi was leading the Big 10 in TD passes.

You see plenty of deep balls with Stanzi out there.
The guy was paying Iowa a compliment. That offense was plenty solid, so opponents couldn't "only" stack the box against them.

I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. I think I can speak for a lot of Iowa fans when I legitimately say that it was frustrating at times how LITTLE Iowa passed the ball when teams were stacking the box.

Iowa got way too conservative late in games, and really forced the issue of running the ball. That's why I disagree. Teams stacked the box because they knew Iowa's mantra.

This is correct. While Iowa did have a legitimate passing attack, their play calling was very predictable.

At this point in time, I would say ISU's A-Rob is a better RB based on experience, and the fact that he played injured for a portion of the year.

If Iowa's A-Rob is able to stay healthy (concussions) I would predict that his senior year would be much better than ISU's A-Rob's senior year was.

    Both are great people/players though.

That's always been a problem under Ferentz.

At the same time, the threat was always there, so teams couldn't get completely carried away.

If you've seen our passing game, there's a real difference between ours and Iowa's right now.
