Couple of ol friends that may be worth recruiting...

    Does anyone remember these names?

    Chase Harper and Princeton Jackson?

Well both are soph. that will be looking for their next challenge.

Chase was a Nebraska Commit but has since pulled out of that and played his second season at Navarro. He could be an immediate player for this offense....At Navarro they're a running team first so his blocking skills are refined...he was named 2nd team for the conference. Now not to speculate, but, lets remember that he was recruited out of HS as a DE....has the size 6-5, 260.....could be an interesting gamble...if not, move him back to TE where he could contribute immediately!!!!

Princeton....oh princeton how sweet you would look lined up next to K&K...that would give ISU one of the best LB crews in the big 12 for sure if not the country.....Mr. Jackson was named the defensive MVP for the conference at Blinn.

Not sure if were still recruiting them or not, but, these are two past players that had at one time committed to ISU and may be worth looking at again....

I didn't know that about Harper, but i would think that with Ernst Brun on board we wouldn't have room for another JC TE, unless either of them plays a different position.

I always wondered why we haven't offered Jackson yet. The staff wanted him out of high school and lord knows we could use LB depth. They must feel confident with what they have coming back otherwise this would seem like a no brainer.

Didn't Harper not qualify again at the start of this season?

Harper was a 2008 recruit and a non-qualifier for Nebby last year out of Juco. He's already taken a RS year. That would mean he would have to come in and learn Herman's offense during the summer and keep his grades above water. If anything were to happen, grade wise, we would be wasting a scholly. That would be a big risk, IMHO. Not likely the staff would go after him considering they have Brun coming in.

With Bennett, George and Mattison as well as the couple new guys, I'm not so sure that the staff feels that linebacker is vital in this class. We lose MT next year but other than that we will bring back everything we have for the next two years. I am not concerned about getting a LBer at this point. If Jackson want to be a Clone, then bring him on, but I think for now we need to be focused on getting 2-3 Dlinemen then the next best players available.

    Or so I have read.

    Jackson is a 4 star.

    Princeton Jackson - Yahoo! Sports

His only offers that Rivals knows about are from Coastal Carolina and South East Louisiana. I, as well as many others were extremely high on Jackson coming out of high school. I hope that staff re-offers him and gives him a redshirt year.

Has anyone else ever noticed that Rivals seems to be a bit more generous with their rankings than Scout? There has been a number of times that I have seen a 4 star on Rivals be a 3 star on Scout. Maybe Im right, maybe Im crazy.
