    Videoboard at Jack Trice!

I keep hearing about this big scoreboard/videoboard that we are getting above the jacobson building next year to replace the one on the other side. How accurate is this and are we getting it next year?

It was approved in the Board of Regents last meeting. There are links where you can see the minutes of the meeting but i do not know where to find them. It has been approved, but it has not officially been announced by the athletic department. My guess is that they will announce it once they have a rendering of the new video board made up.

It is a done deal! They are building a new soccer and track complex and putting the old scoreboard there. JTS is also getting a new sound system too!

Does anybody know for certain it's happening next year? The stories I've found (Des Moines Register and Iowa State Daily) say that the Regents approved it, but it doesn't say when it's going up. I also haven't seen anything confirming it's going on the north side besides rumors on this site.

I think in the board of regents notes, it says the video board was going up in the north to make it easier to bowl in the south end-zone when that happens.

Kinda sucks for those of us with seats in the northern end of the stadium if they do put it on top of the Jacobson Building. We're going to have a hell of a time seeing it from with the angle we'll be looking at it from Section B with. Still looking forward to it, though.

I'd assume it will be back far enough so you can see it.

Plus, now those with endzone seats can see it!

    Re: Videoboard at Jack Trice!

I was sitting in section A row seven and during the Nebraska game... seat one so I was right on the wall next to hillside. I really doubt I would have had any trouble seeing the screen from there.
