    TCU next...

The Horned Frogs got pounded into submission today by West Virginia. The team who was averaging nearly 89 points a game was held to 49 by a dominating West Virginia squad. As I wrote in my review of these teams, WV was led by Madina Ali and Liz Rapella. Both had double doubles in the game. Will be interesting to see if ISU can pull the same defensive magic...or perhaps do one better - tomorrow.

I guess we'll know a little of what to expect after the first game. How West Virginia handles the Cav's will tell us something. We need our big's and Mansfield to stay out of foul trouble early. Pop played a lot yesterday, and made a big difference in the game. Not sure she can do that over 3 and 3 and keep the energy up.

We have always done well against teams where Bill defensively schemes to take away the first option. Not sure about taking away two players.

As I was reading this, I was agreeing with you, then thought of Stanford. Of course, if I remember correctly, Bill really didn't scheme to take the center out of the game.

I don't know, it may be a deal where sometimes a player is going to get their points. Be it, if you front her, double her, whatever. Maybe the emphasis gets put on the entry pass or the kick-out. The scheme? Stanford is pretty balanced most years. Outlier on the bell curve, because obviously better athletes can trip you up.

The first time they played Stanford last season, they focused on Appel, and their outside shooters killed us. As someone else said, Stanford just had too many athletes with great balance for us.

    Re: TCU next...

I'm not in the mood to reminisce about Stanford right now! : )

    Time to beat TCU!!!

Listening to Coach Fen's pregame interview right now while watching former Coach Chiz (Auburn) lose against 'Bama. It's a good day.

Go Clones! I have a good feeling about TCU. And I am shocked that WV only beat UVA 57-43.

    Go Clones again!!!

Made it... god, the crowds are crazy and all I did was go to Sam's and Casey's. Well, Pop and Chas are starting today and we are going to run a man to man early. This should be an interesting game.

Interesting...West Virginia only beat Virginia 57-43. Closer than I thought it might be. It was a one point game at the half for WVU.

It was really an ugly game. They probably had 50 turnovers and 50 fouls. VU was slashing like they did yesterday.

Both sides look a little cold and shakey... LM hits a 3.

Started with 3 straight turnovers, then Mansfield hits for 3. Bad passing. Another 3 by Hallie.

Red uni's for us. They look about our size, except center may be smaller. Should be able to go into the zone to Prins for turnarounds.
