I hope he does retire instead of risking a third serious injury. How many years as a pro has he had? 6,7, I don't know, but an earlier poster said he would make a fine asst. coach, and I agree. Why risk being handicapped for life?
Always a great guy and this injury was to a different part of his spine than his prior one, so hopefully we'll see him on the field next year. But if not, he's still always been a great athlete and a great Cyclone, I wish him the best.
