    Ellis Hobbs done for year

Just heard on ESPN. What a hit he took.

Well that's not surprising, hopefully it's just the year.

If he plays again or not, wishing Ellis the best of health the remainder of his days. I've enjoyed watching him as a Cyclone and a pro. Always a classy individual.

Wasnt he basically playing this year knowing that if he had another neck injury, it could easily be a career ender?

I think so. He'd be an awesome assistant to get back into the program. NFL experience, recruit Texas, help the DBs, etc. Not sure how you'd gradually work him back in though.

Re: Ellis Hobbs done for year

I hope he does retire instead of risking a third serious injury. How many years as a pro has he had? 6,7, I don't know, but an earlier poster said he would make a fine asst. coach, and I agree. Why risk being handicapped for life?

Re: Ellis Hobbs done for year

Always a great guy and this injury was to a different part of his spine than his prior one, so hopefully we'll see him on the field next year. But if not, he's still always been a great athlete and a great Cyclone, I wish him the best.

Re: Ellis Hobbs done for year

That was a very frightening collision. Glad to hear he is doing OK.
