Okay, so maybe "puff piece" is overstating it, as the writer does highlight Cheese Dip not calling his former mentor.
The thing that bugged me the most, and it's been commented on before and will be again at some point by people on here, is the idea that McCarney was some kind of miracle worker for what he did here at Iowa State. I give him credit for leaving the program in better shape when he left than it was when he got here, but I think anyone can objectively say that he had peaked at Iowa State and had run his course when he resigned/was fired, whatever you want to call it in 2006.
I don't really like SEC football in general, as I get tired of their constant need to tell all the rest of us about how great they are when they've already proven in on the field, but I will be pulling hard for Alabama on Friday.
Wow, he even "chizikes" his own daughter and his mentor!
Well, if things are as bad down there as they are rumored to be, he may have a lot more time to spend with his daughter. The question the becomes, if his daughter is old enough to at least get a grasp of what's going on, if she'll want to spend that extra time with him.
