Well, considering we're "ranked" behind #6 Akron who is 1-1 (win over #81 YSU and loss to #25 Dayton) I'm going to go with "no". But I'll still take it too.

    Let's check again at 7-0...

How can that be? I'm pleased with the start... but we have a long ways to go to make it to the top 25. Very odd.

actually we are only a few votes out in the AP poll. if we can get to 7-0 we could very well be top 30 if not 25th

I like it, but any ranking that has us at 7th and Duke at 23rd is a little screwy.

Even for Duke haters, it is pretty hard to deny that they are the #1 team in the country right now....especially after beating K-State handily. Who knows if they will stay there, but they deserve it right now.

That was just because the KSU leading scorer could not hit the broad side of a barn last night.

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

True. But if you've ever watched them play (and its pretty hard to avoid without turning your tv off), they seem to have knack for shutting down great players and making the rest of the team beat them.

Duke has the potential to be very, very good to great this season if Mason Plumlee keeps improving. They have terrific depth at guard, they're going to impossible to zone with Curry and Dawkins on the court. Irving looks as good as advertised, and then you have Smith and Singler who are both capable of taking over a game. Combine that with a very down ACC and I could see them making a run at an undefeated season if they get by Mich St.

It's a computer ranking, not human ranking... The computers are looking at who you've played up to that point and what the outcomes have been. It's not meant to make sense early in the season, as you can tell since #6 Akron is 1-1 and ahead of 4-0 ISU. It will make much more sense about halfway through the season.

Exactly. Duke completely dominated K State and even cleared their bench at the end of the game since they were up by so much. But, even with that they are ranked 23rd and have not lost a game? RPI rankings are a joke. Akron has played 2 games and and ranked #6, even after losing one of those games? Really?
