Fans putting black eye on great game

I wasn't able to watch the game but followed it closely from texts, Twitter, and message boards. My father said it was the best basketball game he's ever listened to on the radio. From all accounts, it was a great game, not just an amazing, gut-wrenching finish.

It's a shame that my feelings towards Creighton is taking a major hit because of their reaction and bitterness. Don't get me wrong, I understand the anger over how the game ended. We have been there many times. This is probably how I reacted after the ISU/FSU game in 2002.

What I don't like are the insults and ignorant comments that are lingering many hours after the game. I've read it all...the intentional foul was terrible, Wells Fargo Arena was terrible, Iowa State didn't deserve to win the game...blah blah blah. It makes the fans sound childish and sophomoric.

When you have to freeze-frame a video shot in order to tell if a shot was released or not...human error comes into play. Human error came into play on the phantom foul call. Human error came in an 85% free throw shooter missing 3 straight.

At the end of the day, Iowa State is 4-0 and this is the first time in many years I've seen a glimmer of hope for the program. Good days are ahead for Cyclone fans!

It was a great game to be at. As intense has any game I've been to in years. Our fans were fantastic.

Give the (real) Creighton fans a break. It would hurt like hell to lose on a shot that (might) not have really counted.

I have no sympathy for a guy like Giggles though.

Well Put! Cyclones are 4-0 at the end of the year all that will matter is this game was a W.

Even before the end of the game I thought the Creighton fans came off as "Basketball Snobs." It's like they are little clones of Kansas fans. It must be something about those "Jay" birds.

Yeah some of the CU fans were over the top, mostly the 20ish ones that were drunk. Running around screaming and swearing after the game. We sat by some great CU fans though.

Wow, what a total dork that kid is. Reminds me of the Mizzou kid that got punched by the Nebraska football player about 8 years ago.

The intentional foul was completely obvious. He had his shirt pulled from behind to try and stop him. There was no going to the ball, it was a clear hold. Definition of intentional.

From the angle of that picture you really can't tell what finger the CU fan has up. We should break down the video frame by frame to really decide what happened here.

Creighton was getting the benefit of the doubt throughout that entire game. We finally caught a break on the (near) buzzer-beater.

I agree, but I still don't think you make that call.

It was a great game. One of the better games I've seen. Much better drive home than the one from Kansas City a few months ago.

This picture right here sums up my experiences with Creighton students. Rich kids who feel they are entitled to do as they please because mommy and daddy will get them out of it if they ever get into trouble. Just about anyone who has ever spent any time around the Omaha bar scene knows what I am talking about.
