ISU better go get a JUCO QB or two

Unless Barnett or the other freshmen are really good, ISU better go get a JUCO QB who can throw and step in right away and play. I think there are enough players to have some success next year but not if ISU doesn't find a QB who can throw.

I didn't think JT played that bad tonight...his recievers really let him (and the team) down.

Lol. Just start Capello or Barnett and we will be fine. No QB will be successful here unless the OL plays better and the Wr's start catching a few more balls.

Yes, ISU needs to waste some scholarships on a position that currently has 3 people trying to earn a starting spot this spring.

Re: ISU better go get a JUCO QB or two

Tiller didn't look great but he was far from our biggest problem tonight.

Problem #1 was WRs who could not block or catch a ball on their hands.

Problem #2 was field goal kicking.|

Problem #3 was Missouri was just a LOT faster than us at nearly every position.

Problem #4 was that Missouri held on every play and didn't get called for it till mop up time.

Good effort tonight, good effort most of the season. Other than the OU and Utah games this team played tough every week and was great to watch. Looking forward to 2011.

Last thing I want to see next year is Tiller throwing off his back foot all season long.

i didn't think tiller looked bad at all tonight. several key dropped passes and not enough blocking did him in. not sure how much if any of this loss is on jts shoulders.

To sum up: OP you have no idea what you are talking about.

Our WRs were the problem tonight, not the QB. Get lost troll....

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

The fact that the receivers dropped passes in no way alters the fact that Tiller threw some horrible passes today because he doesn't seem to understand the concept of stepping in to a pass. If that is his normal throwing mechanics then he is not the answer at QB.

JT played an ok game. You can't put all the blame on him since there were other areas that did up to par. He needs experience, and playing a game here doesnt give him all he needs. It will take game after game for him to keep getting better and better. Will that happen next year? We don't know that. One thing I really like about him is his ability to throw the ball deep. I want to the ball thrown deep a little more in the future.

i dont know about horrible passes, some of them were balls being thrown away, or him being rushed. If you wanna see horrible pases, look back at a few of AA's Int's the last couple years

Re: ISU better go get a JUCO QB or two

I'm interested in seeing how involved Jennert gets next year, hes a nice big target. Also guys like Gary and West who are fast twitch guys who could break big plays in the slot. And whats the scoop on Chris Young? Did he RS this year?

Re: ISU better go get a JUCO QB or two

And I'm just going to throw it out there... not always the case but the QB throwing the ball can sometimes effect catch abilities. Obviously you would like the receiver to always come down with it if it hits them.. but some people can throw odd balls.

Thank you Joe Montana. Have you ever seen Peyton Manning throw? He doesnt even move his front foot, just rotates his hips--almost a jumping motion. Seen Tom Brady throw? Has a similiar technique.

Throwing off his backfoot wasnt the problem--obviously, because the ball was still hitting receivers in the chest.
