    Chizik interview

I just read the latest CN interview. GC hinted that there may be more than 1 QB this year. He's also a little apprehensive on the OL (Aren't we all?). Coach Shep has gotten more accolades - guess he will be counted on heavily in the next year or two to help turn things around.

    This helped boost my confidence.

"I’ll go to my grave thinking that everything starts at the defensive line"

I love that quote! Couldn't agree more. You can have the best corners in the world, but if the D-line can't pressure, you're screwed.

You mean to tell me that having 15 towel waivers...ahem, offensive lineman doesn't mean a dang thing?

In all seriousness, I'm not too optimistic about that unit especially after reading this piece. "We’ve got a lot of work to do" to me translates into we've got a bunch of soft, lead footers that would have trouble blocking my grandma. Hope I'm wrong.

You know, some of the most talented people I know are rather self-critical. They will produce some awesome work of art and then be dissatisfied with how it turned out. I'm hoping it's more like this.

Chizik may just be a little more honest than "ahem" other coaches, who lavish praise on marginal units.

At the least, we have a coach that knows what a good O-line looks like....

Nope, I was speaking solely to the concept of Defense.

    Re: Chizik interview

If you look at past defenses, all you have to do is take a look at who the leading tackler was. If the leading tackler on the team is a defensive lineman, then you have a pretty good defense. If your leading tackler is someone in the secondary!.. well then you're probably in for a long year..
