More on Cam Newton/Auburn in general

A co-worker keyed me into this. While it's quite a bit of internet "connect the dots", it does paint a picture of what's been going on down at Auburn. Sounds like they've paid more players than just Cam Newton. Beware, this is a very long read.

Can't read all of that, but it's a conspiracy theorist's dream. Can't be true now, though, as Chizik was hired for his integrity

My dream result of all this is the entire SEC getting the death penalty and Chizik either banned from coaching or, better yet, forced to stay with a death penaltied Auburn due to some contract clause.

Chizik could stand to lose a chunk of change if the NCAA finds any violations there, at the very least. I'd make him coach at some back-water place where no talent would dream of playing, where he could showcase his vast coaching talents. Then have ISU schedule them every other year and pound them in the Jack by 30+ points, with at least 3 or 4 shots of Chizik's reaction to the game on the new $4million scoreboard. Doubtful there'd be more emotion than he showed at ISU, but it would still be priceless. As long as his team could make ESPN's bottom 10 at least 8 weeks per year...

I stopped reading and just scanned around looking for the part that said Chizik was an *******.

Me too. Try chapter 16, paragraph 9, sentence 24.

The only thing that would be better than that would be for Wayne Bolt to coach the rival team of the school Chizik was at and to have Coach Bolt outfox his former boss every year for a hard-fought victory. I'd say MacFarland, too, but he'd probably be up a conference level from them and couldn't play their team every year. Speaking of which, isn't former Auburn coach Terry Bowden coaching DII or III somewhere? Any coaching openings in his conference?

Re: More on Cam Newton/Auburn in general

What a mess, and from what I had heard before about thye trustees, I can beleive that they are in a world of hurt.
Final line for those that didn't read it all is:
    1. Fbi is involved because of the gambling issues and that is where the money comes from to pay the players.
    2. Many players are being paid including Newton.
    3. The Auburn ad and trustees know they are in trouble, they are all involved in the pay for play, but want to win the national championship before the NCAA taskes it back and puts the death penalty on Auburn.
    4. Chiz is in the dark, hasn't a clue, was lied to, and thinks everything is ok.
    5. FBi wiretraps from the gambling side, showed the pay for play before the ncaa new about it, but had to sit on the story to get all the members of the scandel on tape.

Re: More on Cam Newton/Auburn in general

I enjoyed this quote from the link:

    THE NOW INFAMOUS W&L -

Follow these questions with the now infamous post of W&L on BOL earlier in the week.

unlike Aubs and Gadsden, and (insert recruit X here) being sold to Bama, this tale of cheating is factual and fatal. I cannot nor will I say anything other than this.

Auburn is going on probation for a very long time. enjoy playing cam yesterday to keep Bama from Atlanta. enjoy playing cam so that you could give your fans a send off to Atlanta. enjoy watching a player who gave your program the finger kneel at the goalpost so your "family" could be fooled again. He and his family could care less about you.

Save it.....repeat it..put in on the bunker.........mark my word and my reputation (which means nothing at all in the true sense of the word after all..this is an internet board for goodness sake..VBG)

You are about to be publically humiliated and punished harder than any College Football team in history..except SMU.

Cam will be stricken from your record books. All wins, championships, and records will be gone. You will spend a decade at the BOTTOM of the SEC West, and financial hits will devastate your entire school (note..not the AD alone).

You will reinforce your reputation as the most corrupt college program in history. You will be forced to change the name of your "field". You will lose to Alabama for a decade if not more. And finally, if leadership can be brought to the forefront, (and yes, this is the only prediction about which I cannot put forth what I consider strong evidence), you will be kicked out of the Southeastern Conference in a unanimous vote.

Enjoy this limited run. And Will Collier..yes I know you will read this post...Hell is REALLY coming to burn your program to the ground. Go ahead and get your "conspiracy theories" ready..go ahead and try to figure out how you can claim championships that were rightfully stipped from you..go ahead and focus on how you will bring down Alabama, your singular obsession in life.

Your hell continues this week..........we here plan to enjoy your pain.

Nothing screams "I have integrity" quite like screaming "I have integrity".

Re: More on Cam Newton/Auburn in general

I didn't read any of the Cam Newton stuff, but everything up to that point I've read about before. I'd say it's very legit.

Bobby Lowder is one bad dude down there on the Plains. ESPN named him the "most influential booster" in college athletics in the mid 2000's. Reportedly he threatened to have another member of the AU Board of Trustees killed for going against him. The former CEO of Sun Microsystems pulled a $2 million donation to Auburn AD because he didn't approve of Lowder's "meddling".

It's a huge mess down there, but all signs bascially point toward Lowder as the ringleader.
