    Good Interview w/Jeff Hornacek

    Interview With An ISU Legend | ISU MBB

    WRNL interviewed Jeff Hornacek today. Good read, and shockingly serious, given the source.

    In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

    Solid interview. Not sure how or why he agreed to it but nicely done.

    Re: Good Interview w/Jeff Hornacek

    Great article.

    Interesting he doesn't view the team he played for as being really that good. Pretty obvious he doesn't have the attachement to the institution that Fred Hoiberg does, but when you think about if very few of the former players really do.

    Jeff was a lot of fun to watch. Fred Hoiberg and Michael Nurse are the only other two guards that I saw that came close to his shooting and passing ability.

    I was a little young at the time, but were any of Johnny's teams very good? I seem to remember them running in the middle of the pack quite a bit when I look back at records.

    Great read! So much for whoever on here keeps claiming that Jeff passed on scholarships elsewhere to walk on here.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.

    More or less, that's what I was getting at. I knew we were good at home, but the road was tough. Hence the "not very good" titles.

    Middle of the pack was pretty good in the Big 8. The blowup of BAM caused a setback for a couple of years.

    For a program that had almost never done well, it was a lot of progress. If you will Johnny built the program to the point we could attract coaches like Tim Floyd and Larry Eustachy.

    And it was something special beating top 10 teams like Oklahoma and Kansas at home even when we weren't that "good". And Hilton was full all the time...

    I'm continually amazed at how people like to inject their own personal opinions into a simple interview and spew it as fact. If you think Jeff doesn't have alot of respect and affection towards ISU you are mistaken. How you can claim that he doesn't is plain stoopid.

    Don't confuse ISU with Ames.

    Good times:
    OSU = Eddy Sutton
    Mizzoo = Norm Stewart
    KU = Larry Brown
    OK = Billy Tubbs
    ISU = Johnny Orr
    KSU - Not so much
    CU - Not so much
    NU - Not so much

    You must have had a bad day....

    And how did you twist my post into me assuming he doesn't have any respect or affection for ISU?
