    More Reality TV dumbness

'Teen Mom' star charged with domestic violence felonies - CNN.com

MTV's "Teen Mom" Amber Portwood faces felony domestic violence charges in her Indiana hometown because of incidents on her reality TV show -- where she is seen shoving, punching, slapping and choking her boyfriend, a police spokesman said.
Two of the three charges are felonies because the couple's 1-year-old child apparently witnessed the violence, according to Anderson, Indiana police spokesman Mitch Carroll.
The charges were outlined in a probable cause affidavit filed by police, but Portwood, 20, will not be arrested until the Madison County, Indiana, prosecutor files formal charges, Carroll said.
The investigation began seven weeks ago after MTV aired an episode of the reality series "Teen Mom" showing incidents captured over the summer, he said.

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

so... does this put the camera crew and producers in trouble as well? they saw it happen and didn't do anything to stop it or report it to the police...

    They probably encouraged it.

Especially since there is a child present.

The other weird question to ask is why did it take 7 weeks to start the investigation.

Side note: I am glad she lost custody of the kid. The dude is so much better for the kid. (My wife keeps me updated on all of this)

I thought Gary handled it well, glad to see it may pay off for him to not have smacked her then. Between that and her pedo-boyfriend, she has no business with a child at this point.

Love the title of that article. "Teen Mom Star."

Really? You can be a star of that TV show?

No. This isn't a Seinfeld episode. If you don't want to help you aren't compelled by any law.

"Reality TV" and "dumbness" in the same title is redundant.

It said the investigation started 7 weeks ago, not 7 weeks after.

Different situation, sure... Iowa Code 321.263 states that you must render aid if you are involved personal injury accident.

If you are worried about liability (not just for personal injury accidents), Iowa Code 613.17 cover this.

A person, who in good faith renders emergency care or assistance without compensation, shall not be liable for any civil damages for acts or omissions occuring at the place of an emergency or accident unless such acts or omissions constitute recklessness.

I thought this thread was going to be about the new show with Vince Neal ice skating.

If America is consistent in their stupidity they'll be amazed when professional dancers and gymnasts beat Larry David at ice skating.

I don't think you'd be obliged to get involved if you just happened to witness it though.

    Re: More Reality TV dumbness

I'm glad to see her suffer some consequences too. Shes a world class *****. Gary seems like a decent enough guy and a fair father. His weakness is that he slept with the loser and still cares about her. This whole show is quite a train wreck. The most level headed of the girls up and moved 2 hours from home for a boyfriend who A) seems mildly ******** and b) dumped her a month or so later. The show should be good birth control for any teens watching.

Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving.
