Re: Was i hallucinating or was there a thread

There were a couple older ladies behind me the first game that were bashing on scotty every chance they got, how awful he always was, how slow he was, etc. ****** me off.

They werent there sunday, but tonight scotty made listening to them very enjoyable.

I just so love that he left the game with more points than Drake. I never thought I'd see somebody do that.

I love it when they say stuff like he is a good kid but not Big 12 talent. My opinion is this. If he has the courage to put on the Cyclone uniform so I am going to root for him.

Re: Was i hallucinating or was there a thread

Courage? To put on a Cyclone jersey? Is he getting shot at like a soldier or a cop? Is he fighting fires? What kind of courage does it take to put on a Cyclone jersey? I'm assuming that was just a poor word choice, because any one of us wouldn't hesitate to put on a Cyclone jersey, regardless of talent level or "courage".

The thread was not about running off Scotty. Revisionist history.

and then followed the comments on how it would be best if he just graduated and didn't come back for his RSSr year because he would be the odd man out. People claimed Babbs, Phillips, Odunsi, and Anderson were all ahead of him. not everyone but there were plenty. Mostly people judging him fro last years play when he wasn't healthy. They assume he can't play defense or get to the hole and that he is just a spot up shooter. Oh well.
He will have games like last night and he will have games when he is cold. nice thing is we have depth this year so when he is cold, someone else can step up.

So are you saying that there are idiots on this board? If you are I agree. Last year Scott was nowhere near 100% and people can't grasp that. My daughter had mono and I can't believe he played at all. All that being said, Scott is still a logical candidate to not be here next year because of his status. I assume it will be 100% up to him because he will not be run off.

I am not sure why a lot of you can't grasp that for the ENTIRE conference season, Scotty had mono. That hurt his shot terribly last year. He still battled out there and played some awesome defense and hit some clutch free throws at end of games when the poor guy must have just about been dead.

I think you are taking his comments a little to literally. What he meant was how much turnover there has been within the ISU Mens BB program and how Scotty could have up and left after McD left but he decided to stay true to his committment. That's at least how I took it.

Re: Was i hallucinating or was there a thread

So he just used the wrong word. That works for me, because in no way does courage define what you just described. Maybe dedication or something of the like would have been a better choice of word.
