I was shocked when I saw the Drake players

I thought they had all these young studs and some good returners. They looked like a high school team. Keno's team looked like last years Duke team in comparison.

The way some in the meida were bragging up Drake I thought they were a decent team. Guess not.

I hate to be that guy, but can you please change the "seen" to "saw" in the thread title. It is one of my biggest pet peeves...
That said, yes, I agree the Drake players looked like they belonged in a high school game.

We have 3 Seniors, 2 Juniors, and 5 freshmen.

1 senior and 1 junior missed much of last year for injuries. Our other junior played through mono, and really has half a season of experience playing at full speed.

You can see the difference in the young guys and their readiness to play.

Re: I was shocked when I saw the Drake players

I think the key was where the experience was on the court. Our back court (and Freddy's strategy) made it really tough to get into their offense, and neutralized their post players by neutralizing their guards to the point of ineffectiveness.

Drake and even UNI don't recruit at our level.
Successfull Mid-majors count on guys that are developed.
Ejim and Godfrey athletically are on a different level then most
    Freshmen in the Valley.

Re: I was shocked when I saw the Drake players

All the above said, they probably shouldn't get beat by almost 50 points.

25 maybe, but not 50. Dubuque should get beat by 50, schools from conferences that can get 2-3 teams into the NCAA tournament should be able to hang within 25.
