    New Football Commit

I don't think this has been posted yet, but we picked up a 6th commit (had Ellington not decommitted he would have been #7), a 2-star QB from Louisiana

    Josh Jordan - Football Recruiting

If you look on the CycloneReport home page, note that the four you see (McDonough, Robertson, Bykowski, and Jordan) are the "Highest Rated Commitments." Hit the "FB Recruiting" tab up top and scroll down for the full list.

Anyone see the list of schools that were interested in him? That's kind of impressive.

    Re: New Football Commit

I'm not gonna knock him, its great to have another guy on board. I know its hard to judge and i dont know what style of play the have down in the bayou, but the stats arent great. 49% comp. rate isnt good. And barely more TD than INT.

BUt if high school stats said everything, then Jason Scales wouldve won 2 Heisman trophies already.

    Re: New Football Commit

He looks like a good athlete. I definitely see him playing linebacker/defense sometime down the road. Put 20 lbs on him and he is 6'4" and 230lbs and runs a 4.7.

Who said he's going to play QB in college?

    Re: New Football Commit

13.5 yards per completion is pretty good for a high school kid... I imagine he has a gun just needs to harness it a bit... I don't see him as a position switch type...

    Re: New Football Commit

Interesting tidbit from the Scout article:

Last season Josh transferred from Denham Springs to St. Amant.

"I only started 6 games. I did not get over until the last day of practice and they already had a starter. It took me a while to learn everything, but I think I had a pretty good year. I threw for 1, 350 yards and 11 Td's in the last 6 games."
That would help explain the numbers... He compares himself to Matt Jones, and if he's ANYTHING like Jones was, he could be exciting to watch. He said he's willing to play anywhere, that's a good attitude to have...I could handle another Austin Flynn-type player

I can play any skilled position. I will play WR, but I love QB. But I will play anywhere. I am very versatile.

    Re: New Football Commit

I'd guess he could grow into almost any position on the field. LB, DE, TE, WR, and QB (obviously)

    Re: New Football Commit

Looks like a good get, but I hope I don't have to read his quotes very often. Nearly every sentence starts with "I". Maybe that was the interviewer though.

    Re: New Football Commit

Looks like you could put him at a lot of different positions. I'd love to see him put on 20 lbs and play linebacker though.

    Re: New Football Commit

Im not sure Gene is really recruiting him at quaterback. Iowa State should be set with Arnaud or Bates to pan out. I can easily see him move to Wideout, or outside linebacker in the Tampa 2.
