US turns to squirrels for national defense?

If nothing else, this just might freak them out a little. I say we unleash thousands of these little b*stards into Iran, North Korea and Syria with radio shack microphones strapped to their butts.

Sure those were not Israeli spies? They could also use rats. They have tons of them in iran.

Wouldn't be a stretch. The Brits are already using Badgers in Iraq...

Re: US turns to squirrels for national defense?

The funny thing is, is that this Iranian "Urban Legend" may have been started by their spying on US. In the US Military Intelligence community, the slang-word for "spy" and "intelligence officer" is "Secret Squirrel", and the CIA/NSA/DIS is often referred to as "The Secret Squirrel Society". I even know guys in intel jobs who have had unit emblems and stationary that incorporated the squirrel as their symbol.

I imagine some overzealous Iranian intelligence officer picked up on the slang, added 1 and 1 and got 3, and now, Iranians are convinced that there are sensor equipped squirrels roaming Iran, spying on them....
