Rhoads sounded beat during this call as opposed to other times even after a beatdown. God Help Us on Saturday. A blowout loss would be devastating to this Cyclone program.

Re: LISTEN: Paul Rhoads' Nov. 15 Press Conference

He even said a next game loss would not be the end of the world.

He said JT is not expected to throw it deep down the middle. (Edit: Look for it then....)

He said AAs knee is swollen and black and blue.

He said he is looking for middle screens from MO like the one to Macklin(?) last year.

That's exactly my point. If Rhoads was the usual Rhoads who is high on energy and optimism, he doesn't make this comment.

Maybe he is trying to temper expectations after the meteoric faceplant the team preformed last Saturday.

Yeah, you're right. He's definitely packed it in for the rest of the season. I heard he didn't really want to go to a bowl game this year anyway.

All kidding aside, I really think Rhoads gave all he had to this season. No shame in feeling done with a 5-7 season. I would like to see us win this Saturday. However, I don't feel the optimism from the head man - atleast from this audio feed. Maybe, he has a last bit of surprise win left in him especially without Austen - I guess we will see.

I think tiller leads us to at least 3 turn overs and a very close "winnable" game in this one, unless of course our running backs step up such as Mr. ARob and Co. Having said that, please make me eat my words.

He was probably reading this site and wondering if he could get seats put in the indoor practice facility for Saturday to keep warm along with running shuttle services to and from Ankeny so people dont have to drive in the dark.

I don't agree with a lot that you post on this site...but that was funny and I had a laugh.

Re: LISTEN: Paul Rhoads' Nov. 15 Press Conference

IMHO, it will all come down to line play. Even though JT has not played alot; he has proven he can keep from turning the ball over and manage a game. If the line run blocks and gives JT some time I think we can score points.

All that being said, in the first two years of the Rhoads Era, the Cyclones win or lose based on DEFENSE. Let's hope Wally and the Boys bring it on Saturday!

    Go Cyclones!!!

Re: LISTEN: Paul Rhoads' Nov. 15 Press Conference

Watching the video of the press conference he looked extremely drained more than anything else. I really doubt he got much rest this weekend, and when you consider how much of it was about Arnaud I wouldn't expect him to sound anything other than downbeat about losing Arnaud that way.

I'm worried about Mizzu, but I think people are reading to much into it to say that Rhoads or anybody else in the program has given up on the season.

I think you guys are hearing what you want to hear.

He gave honest answers, but he certainly didn't sound like someone that was throwing in the towel.
