So...if we do beat MU.....wher are we going

Let's say we're all leaving JTS on Saturday night with our 6th W. Where are we going from there? Obviously the CU loss KILLS our Bowl Stock. It would have been great to get the KSU, CU, and NE games and get the trip to Dallas or Phoenix again. But should I be planning a trip to NYC (ugghhh), New Mexico (warm but who cares about the first Bowl game of the season), or still up in the air???

    Thoughts??

More than likely a bowl outside of the Big 12, so it would be a complete guess

IF we win, I would plan on New Mexico, Detroit, Memphis or El Paso.

Stay away from the border area if the team goes to El Paso, and I wish I could say I was kidding.

Seeing as the Sun Bowl is across the street from Mexico, that would be a challenge.

El Paso, pretty much is Mexico. I mean, just look at the name. The only thing separating the two is a wall.
That being said, I would love to go to the Sun Bowl, if the opportunity arises.

Things that pretty much must happen for the Sun Bowl to be available:

    -Stanford must run the table
    -Oregon must run the table
-Only one out of Oregon State, California, Washington, and UCLA can become bowl eligible
-Auburn must lose, and a non-BCS team must play in the national championship game
-The Rose Bowl must pick Stanford as a replacement for Oregon

The first three are very possible, maybe even likely. The last two are more unlikely, but still possible.

If Oregon goes to the NC game then I dont think another pac 10 team goes to the Rose Bowl, some rule about them taking the top non qualifier team, either Boise or TCU. I know I heard something like that.

That's why Auburn needs to lose. If the Tigers lose, the top ranked non-automatic qualifier team would be in the national championship game. That would allow the Rose Bowl to pick whoever they want to replace Oregon.

If the Rose Bowl loses Oregon to the national championship game, they are only obligated to take whoever is ranked higher between Boise State and TCU. If the higher ranked team is in the national title game, the Rose Bowl does NOT have to take the lower ranked team.

    Bumping.

This is one of my pet peeves: the "counting your chickens before they are hatched" thing.

I mean, the bowl talk should wait until we are actually bowl-eligible.
