Colorado game = worst game of CPR era?

I think so. I know we got shut out by Oklahoma earlier this year and that could be the worst showing my this Cyclone team, but I will admit that I haven't watched that game on TV.

I think coaching does not get any worse than the Colorado game. Colorado was playing without their head coach. Interim coaches are NOT that effective in coaching the team to a victory. I don't care if Hawkins' son is out there trying to prove a point by playing his best game in his career - our coaches needed to get this squad ready to bring him down. I will give Paul Rhoads and his coaching staff an absolute "F" in preparing this team for this Boulder showdown.

I am not saying fire any of our coaches by any means. I simply do not see how a coaching staff can deserve a raise after producing such a poor outcome from week 10 to week 11. And, oh by the way the BEST player on the team is out and Austen, IMHO, outperformed our coaching staff. He seemed to be the only one besides a few other players to care about bowling.

Its sad that we wont go bowling after beating a ranked Texas team. Missouri is a solid team - plus we play with Tiller who is far worse than I had imagined. God Help Us.

I'm not going to get as pissy and reactionary, but yes, this was the worst game of the Rhoads era. Not even close, IMHO.

I don't know what other game would compare to it. At least Saturday's over now.

Every coaching staff has letdowns from time to time. It's going to happen.

Clearly. Letdowns are a part of growing a program, and while it sucks, this beatdown at Colorado is part of the growing process. I hate what happened on Saturday, it's the first time in a long time watching Cyclone football made me sick. But if CPR and the rest of the team learn and grow from this massacre, then, in the long run, it will have been worth it.

Never has a Paul Rhoads coached team came out as unprepared and unemotional against a team with similar talent. Outcoached and outplayed. CPR is all about passion, if he can bring that 12 games a season and not half the season, this team will be good going forward. We need to remember this is only his second year as a head coach.

Always a disappointment to lose to an inferior team. It is magnified because bowl eligibility was on the line. A bad loss indeed, but let's not call this an "era" just quite yet.

I wouldn't take bowling out of the question. We have one game left, a home game at that. Senior night in whats going to be a cold windy night which evens out the competition. Tiller is still a D1 quarterback and manages a game just fine. Things will have to go our way but we've seen it before.

Too answer the question this was a game we were suppose to win and didn't that is a first under CPR, he will be out to prove something Saturday.

Re: Colorado game = worst game of CPR era?

Yes it was the worst. I think this loss is much worse than both the Utah and OU game because we were FAVORED for once. Just when we are on the verge of getting some respect, we **** it down our leg. Our only hope is that it seems like Rhoads' teams have bounced back strong after particularly demoralizing losses. Mizzou has been shakey on the road all season and we have been very strong at home (other than the Utah game). I'm going to table my meltdown for now and hope Rhoads gives me a reason to forget the CU game this Saturday.

I'd wait and see how Utah finishes out before making that call. Giving up 68 points at home to a MWC team has got to put that game strong in the running. If Utah is a BCS bowl team that's one thing. Utah's last two games are not gimme's. If it turns out that ISU gave up 68 points to a 3 or 4-loss team, I think it would indicate that there were some major problems that day.

We also had a head coach who was already daydreaming about wearing navy and orange while strolling the sidelines of a larger stadium in a warmer climate, all while being "firmly entrenched" on the ISU sideline.

If you believe Cheezydick hadn't mentally checked out of ISU before coaching the Mizzou game, I'd believe you're sorely mistaken.

We may lose Saturday, but it won't be because CPR is "lame-ducking" this game with his heart already at a different location.

Yeah, I think you have to label it as his worst so far. Easily the most disappointing game for me this season. I agree with Jdogg though, it's part of the growing process.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
