    CFN Big 12 preview

CFN has their Big 12 preview up now, can't say I'm all that surprised about it. Our defensive unit rankings are pretty horrid, which is understandable considering the season our defense had last year. Overall, a pretty bleak outlook from the boys at CFN.

We are an unkown to the country. For pessimists that means that we are going to have a rough year and arent going to know what to do. For optimists, that means we have a chance to turn things around and are going to be dangerous because other teams wont know what to expect. I think this is going to be a good year to really shock some teams. They have nothing to go on, no tape of past performances and plays, etc. Hit em hard boys.

Loved the write-up. It's almost exactly where I stand. I think we win 5 games but have the pieces in place to suprise.

    Re: CFN Big 12 preview

I was expecting a bit more, CFN is usually pro ISU. Can't say I blame them though.

I disagree with them predicting Texas A&M winning over OU. Stoops usually has his team rolling by November, and a home loss during that time is extremely unlikely.

EDIT: Also, all the Missouri hype reminds me of the hype for 2005 and 2006 Iowa State. I'm not saying they'll end up 4-8, but I find it very hard to believe that they'll ever get over the hump under Pinkel. They may beat NU at home, but there are several games in the end they could flounder.

    Re: CFN Big 12 preview

I've always enjoyed CFN and Fiutak's articles (cavaclade of whimsy), and I find what he says in here a pretty good assessment of the coming season...

Regarding Mizzou, I'll believe it when I see it... but it would be nice for the North to start shoving the southern schools around a little again like in the earlier years in the conference, but then again, that would require me to root for NU, Mizzou, etc... ick ick!!

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.
