    Accident on I-35

    It was between Elkhart and Ankeny. I'm not sure if they are redirecting both North and South, but it sounds like a long wait.

    If you are coming to Ames for the game, you will want to leave earlier.

    I think I heard on the radio that there were 3 or 4 separate accidents between Ames and Ankeny.

    3-4 wrecks with upto 5 cars in one accident.

    My wife and I were driving north on I35 between 3 and 3:30 pm and saw, as an earlier poster noted, at least five different damaged cars within a two-mile range or thereabouts. The accidents all occurred on the southbound lanes, and traffic was close to a standstill when we passed. Northbound traffic was not affected, although everyone heading north of course slowed down for a good while.

    Driving home from Ames to Ankeny last night I would say the biggest issue was people driving slow in the passing lane. It understandable that some people want to drive slower in bad conditions, but now a lot of them seem like they want to block the left lane. It's going to be a long winter.
