    What are you best memories of what happened 5 years ago tonight?

    With the CU game upon us tomorrow, it reminded me of what happened exactly 5 years ago tonight.

    It was one of the few games I've been able to bring my dad to, and we were out tailgating in lot C3 with some friends. I remember we ran to Hilton for shelter, along with many others. The band eventually got there and it turned into a mini pep rally.

    I recall that the game was delayed, but I can't remember by how long. It was a great crowd that night, and the wind was very strong going south to north. I remember one of Mason Crosby's field goal attempts landed on the roof of the Jake with the help of the wind. And who could forget Brent Curvey's pick 6 to seal the game, and the crowd was about as loud as I've ever heard it. Whenever I see Joel Klatt on FSN, it always reminds me of that game.

    I HAD TICKETS TO THIS GAME!! Then my dad said no way when there was word of a tornado. I can't really blame him.

    We went to the game with another couple and were at Old Chicago when we heard the game was postponed (this was before we had season tickets and a tailgate setup). Stayed for a couple more beers, that was nice. Then we ended up sitting next to a Colorado fan who was bragging for most of the game about how good they are and how rich he is. Needless to say, we had fun with him at the end.

    Actually, how long has Old Chicago been there? I'm pretty sure that's where we were but it doesn't seem like it's been there that long.

    The wife and I were in our apartment in West Des Moines when we heard about the weather. We were scared to drive up and waited until the last minute. Once we heard that the storm had blown over, we rushed up and made it just in time.

    That game was awesome, I remember seeing Curvey watch himself run into the endzone on the scoreboard.

    It was also a very eerie game. After the weather had blown over, despite being windy, the temperature was great, even for that late in the season.

    I was interning at WOI-TV. Was on the field, but we were forced into the Jacobson Building. We weren't allowed outside, but I was stuck in a room with all the cheerleaders. It was pretty cool.

    I was drunk and beligerant. I was yelling at Colorado fans to go get Ralphie and see if he could take on our mascot. A real freakin tornado. Then the game was electric and my drunkness wore off a little. Good times all around. It was the first and last time I heckled an oposing teams fans. Guess that is what a real tornado does to me.


    Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

    We ate at Old Chicago instead of tailgating that night, too. I believe that Iowa/Wisconsin game was on. We showed up to C2 late, and saw everyone being directed to take cover. We did, in Hilton. The brave continued tailgating.

    Curvey returned the pick when he read the screen pass, and I think it was Steve Paris that returned the fumble, wasn't it?
