    Pinstripe Bowl-Yankee Stadium

Well if we end up in the Pinstripe Bowl here is what the football set-up looks like at Yankee Stadium:

Notre Dame vs. Army is playing there next week.

That would totally suck. The sideline seats are too far away as are the one endzone seats. Not to mention cold, expensive, and rude people. That said, a bowl is a bowl. Better than nothing.

Hopefully we win out and go somewhere warm.

Times Square on New Year's sounds pretty sweet though.

What's the date of that bowl? That would trump all the other negatives.

I'll make fun of myself: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Pinstripe+bowl

Yeah the 1st level sideline seats wouldn't be good sight lines it appears. Sitting the next two levels up I think you would have a pretty good view though.

    Re: Pinstripe Bowl-Yankee Stadium

Expense would be my only concern. I wonder what hotels rooms will be charging that time of year? That said, airfare should be cheaper than many other destinations…right? I love the idea of NYC and going to Yankee Stadium.

    Re: Pinstripe Bowl-Yankee Stadium

This is the worst idea ever. New Yorkers have an extremely inflated view of themselves if they think that people would come just because it is in New York and in Yankee stadium. No one wants to drop that kind of coin for hotels just to sit outside in the middle of winter. If this were in the new football stadium then I could see the possibility of success. The only advantage that I could see here is that if ISU wins, they could have a rare and possibly one of a kind trophy because I don't see this continuing very long.

That would be cool, but I think getting a hotel room in the city would be fairly difficult that weekend

I still think it's a compelling vacation to be in NY on New Year's eve. Maybe that's just me.

Good point. I have to think the organizers considered this and didn't think it would be an issue but I can't believe it won't.

Tickets arent cheap to this either, compared to other bowls of that level. 150 bucks to sit between the 20s, but a mile away?

    Re: Pinstripe Bowl-Yankee Stadium

To be completely honest, I'm not so sure the seats between the 20s (minus around the foul poles) are that much farther away than at Jack Trice Stadium.

Whoa B. Was just in NYC to see the Yanks and went to a show, museums, Times Square (at midnight) and didn't come across one rude person. This tirp would be cold and expensive as hell but New Yorkers are good people.

Actually, you probably want to stay as far away from the **** show in Times Square as possible on NYE. Unless you like be crammed into a pen with thousands of other people, unable to move, see anything or pee.

Best to find a good bar away from midtown and spend the evening with friends.
