Outside the men's room: "Don't tread on me"

You soccer fans are probably already familiar with that slogan but I would encourage others to check out the wikipedia link I included so that it all makes a little more sense to you. The comparison between the USMNT soccer program and the ISU football program really is fairly accurate.

Tough game to get over and many of us are probably feeling the effects. Get Colorado on Saturday and the healing process will be helped greatly.

Bold statement of the week: There is a better chance the ISU basketball team loses on Friday than there is that the ISU football team loses on Saturday. A lot more on the line for the football team which ups the nerves a bit, though.

Comments, complaints and questions are always welcome.

Also the slogan for the Tea Party. "Don't Tread on Me" is starting to become a slogan that is way too over used! It is almost like the slogan "Lets Roll" post-911.

suggesting the wind didn't have an affect on the throw is one of
the dumbest comments I've ever read on this board.

You must have proof the wind affected it?

How much did the wind affect the ball on the previous play when Arnaud threw the TD to Jake Williams?

Say that even what I said was catergorically incorrect...there have been literally thousands of things said on this site dumber than that anyway.

If CPR said the wind didn't have an affect the flight of that pass then yes he is dumb, but he didn't.

Re: Outside the men's room: "Don't tread on me"

To those who argue the call or using Daniel on that play don't realize is that they PRACTICED the play. Rhoads said that they have been practicing the play and were waiting to use it all year at the right time. This indicates that they were practicing the play every week like it was a regular play in their list. I remember in high school football when we practiced a play even if it was a simple dive play we practiced it ad nauseum until we ran it perfectly and then we would run it some more.

Being the sticker for details that the coaching staff are I'm sure they didn't just do it a couple of times and called it good. Just like any regular run or pass play they practice if the team didn't execute it practice they wouldn't use it a game. Just like that reverse to Money didn't work in the game I bet in practice it worked. If they had the slightest doubt that Daniel couldn't complete that pass then they would not have called that play.

It's pretty dumb to go around calling other people dumb because you don't agree with them. But back to the wind issue....it sure looked to me like Kuhl "lofted" the ball with no zip on it and it hung up in the wind and just died.

I was in Endzone Section BB. The flags were alternating between being straight down and flapping a little. Wind was not a factor. The ball just had no zip or touch to it (probably slipped, though I haven't heard anyone on the team say so). When I saw it, my first thought was "he threw it like a girl!" Now I think it was probably that the ball slipped a little out of his grip. It would have been a completion if he had fired a missile, lofted it, or just led Franklin.

Judging by the title, I thought this thread was about a new sexual abstinence program at the U of I

just to clarify I said the comment was dumb not the person.
But now it's been reported that it wasn't really windy in JT
Saturday so I guess I'll just choose to move on.

I could have heard wrong, but I think on the radio call in show he said that play was added the week before the game specifically for this game. Eitherway I think that reinforces your point. They practiced it this week and it obviously went well. If he was throwing terrible passes in practice I dont think they would have ran the play...

Also to clarify, I wasn't offended

I actually donít think the wind was the problem. It was a poor throw. Is the wind more likely to affect a spiral or a wounded duck? Had a decent throw been made the wind wouldnít have affected it at all. As it stands Iím not sure the wind did anyway. To me, it looked like he saw how open Franklin was and didnít want to miss him so he lobbed it out there without seeing the Nebraska defender in pursuit.
This is my main point. Throw a decent spiral and the wind doesn't touch it. Throw a wounded duck without leading the receiver and it will bring the wind factor more in to question.

I watched the play again. Now I have a different theory. Notice how the holder and the kicker keep running hard after the throw (like on a triple option). They had used the pitch on a previous fake kick. Maybe Kuehl was thinking more about the run and then decided to pass while running. He doesn't plant his feet at all. He just seems to try to sneak the ball to Franklin rather than make a good throw.
