    Royce White ESPN blog

Kind of a pointless article but shows how relevant the program will be next year...

I have no beef with the logic in the article; bummer that may be. Thanks for the link.

"The Cyclones lost their three best players from a team that won 15 games last season, and only senior guard Dionte Garrett returns with any measure of Big 12 experience."

You'd think if he was the only senior guard, the only B12 experienced player, the writer would know how to spell his name. I mean how tough is it with Garrett being in ESPN's, who you are writing this article for, database:

I think our starting five next year will be a little better than "just this side of pretty good".

Stupid article, to much I disagree with to give it any time.

    Re: Royce White ESPN blog

It is pretty hard to say that an ISU roster with White would not have been much better than without. Writers like this one need to remember that there are only 5 guys on the floor at a time, so a guy that is 20% of your team can make a huge difference. Just think back to how good ISU was with Fizer and how average they were when he sat on the bench.

    Re: Royce White ESPN blog

So Scott Christopherson and Jamie Vanderbeeken aren't experienced in the Big 12?

    Re: Royce White ESPN blog

The one thing the writer fails to consider is that giving White a year of Big XII experience before next year could be very beneficial to the team next year when we are hoping to take a big step forward.

Imo DG was one of our three best players last year. Who do they have in front of him? Hamilton? Colvin?

He must be thinking Hamilton. I'd disagree. But Hamilton did a lot of good things. Good rim protector, excellent offensive rebounder, quiet but efficient scorer. I'd like to say I wish him the best at LSU, but I'm a little bitter, and sort of hope it doesn't work for him.

Yep, I would love to have Hamilton right now, but it is hard to say he is "better" than DG.
His point about a poor team losing a lot of its talent remains, unfortunately.

Fair point, but the team wasn't good even with him 'til he got a real PG to play with.

    Re: Royce White ESPN blog

So does the Kanter news, even though the situations couldn't be much more different, make anyone feel better about White?

I didn't feel bad to start with, so not really.

    Who is Kanter?

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Doesn't really make me feel better at all. I knew there was a great chance that both would be ruled ineligible.
