Surprised Ecby wasn't a 3-star, he has been putting up huge numbers this season.

I'm surprised as well. Ecby is a 3 star on ESPN and they have him rated as one of our top prospects score wise at 77.

I am glad their ratings were updated as it is though.

    Re: Recruit updates

This might sound like a no brainer, but I like the fact that we are recruiting players that are coming from winning high school teams. I'll take kids that know how to win and do not settle for losing over some kid that's a 5 star recruit and all about self gloss.

Jaquarius Daniels' team is like 1-8, sometimes your stuck on bad teams. Can't fault the kid.

That's why recruiting is so damn tough. You look at a kid like Richardson who puts up great numbers on a great team, and some start to say well he benefits from having so much talent around him. Then you look at Daniels who puts up great numbers on a terrible team, and some start to say well he benefits from being the only player on the team. All you can do is trust that the men choosing to make offers see things that make these kids stand out from the rest, even if they don't put up huge numbers sometimes. Look at Christian French. One of the supposed top recruits in the country, and every report I hear about him is that he's soft and unimpressive. It's a crapshoot. Luckily for us, Chizek hit on a lot of kids. Now let's hope coach Rhoads can do the same.

    Re: Recruit updates

Minor clarification..... Sam Richardson (QB from Winter Park) was the only returning starter on the offensive side of the ball for Winter Park. Not saying that the new guys aren't talented; but, it's not like SR could rely on experienced veteran players around him.

    Re: Recruit updates

Dagel is a legit 6'8.... Very quick with his hands... wouldn't mind him lining up at TE. not very aggressive but should turn out to be one hell of a ball player. i'm confident Coach Bleil will do wonders win this kid.

Very good player on a bad Cherokee team, our team absolutely blew them off the field.

Lates ISU football commit...is this kid, Jevohn Miller, on Iowa's radar? - HawkeyeNation Forum
good discussion from this summer about miller over at hawknation. a few of their fans actually have many good things to say about him. then there is the typical slack jawed yokel who just rolled off his sister poking his .02 in.

Are we looking at Tyson Broekemeir out of Aurora Nebraska for QB? He has put up some impressive numbers on a winning team.
