    Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........

I am sick of hearing people giving Nebraska DB Eric Haag credit for making a good play on the ball, I heard it again on T&T this morning, what game were they watching? Haag did a OH S*** when he say Franklin wide open, then started running towards him and the duck of a pass floated right to him, I don't even think Franklin could have made the catch if Haag wasn't there, since it was so far behind him, he slipped and fell trying to come back to it. So quit giving the Nebraska DB credit when none is due..........but the way good call it was there, I'll always stand behind CPR's decisions.

I don't think it was an "Oh crap". I think he did exactly what the protection called for and look for the release.

I still give him credit for recognizing the fake (way late, but recognizing it none-the-less) and trying to make up ground to his assignment. I believe if he didn't Colin could have still had a shot at the ball. It hung up there a long time. I do agree though, if it was a better pass the DB has no shot at it.

Yeah, I was a little surprised when I heard that too. I'm pretty sure I could have made that play on the ball.
What ticked me off at the end of the game was when they interviewed Pelini, he didn't give ISU any credit at all on the field.

    Your are right.
I will give the Dback some credit for reconizing the play, but if that ball is thrown even remotely decent...he would have looked like a fool, put his head down and walked away. BUT it was a crappy throw and the wind made it even worse and we lost. end of story.

Agree. There was a Husker fan staggering around before the game saying "Let's go Hawks". I would have responded with "Let's go (fill in the blank)", but their **** state only has one school.
Also I heard NU fans saying how weak JTS is and that Mem Stadium holds 30,000 more fans. I responded with "JTS may have 30,000 less seats but it also holds 80,000 less douchbags."

Re: Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........

I agree he shouldn't get any credit. He got lucky. Really lucky. He got fooled really bad on the play and if it wasn't for an awful pass he would be getting killed by Nebraska fans right now.

For any sports media guy to say that is a nice play by him is absurd. If he wasn't there it was still an incomplete pass. That's how bad the throw was

More credit should be given to the guy that got thru the line and hurried the throw. He caused the bad throw and took away the run option. Initially, it looked like Haag came up to cover the run anyway. If Kuehl had more time, he could have set his feet and thrwon the ball once Haag committed to stopping him from runnning

I was in the Endzone section BB and it happened right in front of me. Wind was not a factor. It was just a bad/slipped pass on a play that had worked well in practice. I doubt if the ball was thrown like that in practice. A lofted pass, a pass that led him, or a missile would have been 2 points.

This. It looked better than it was since he dove and caught the ball, but that play was 90% ISU's poor execution and 10% NU's good play.

I almost prefer that he came up with it. How bad would we feel if Franklin remained open and that craptastic throw hit the turf?

I hate Nebraska (especially Pellini) as much as the next guy but I thought it was a pretty good play by the guy.

I watched the play numerous times yesterday and to his credit he recognized the fake in time and got over there to make a play. Granted, if the pass would've come earlier or had some zip it would've worked...

But I wouldn't say he was totally faked...give the guy a little credit...Franklin did.

Re: Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........

I didn't really see any pressure on Kuehl, and I don't think Haag did anything out of the ordinary. Franklin had a sea of green beyond him and to his left, and anything but a horrible pass wins the game. I don't blame Kuehl, it might be the first pass he's ever thrown in a game, including high school. That's why you have a back-up qb as your holder, for fake kicks and bad snaps.
