    Nebby Travel Rep

We all know Nebby fans travel very well but I wonder if they will continue to travel as well with the Big 10 schedule. I can see them traveling well the first few years but do you see them going to IU, Purdue, NW and MSU like they have all these years in the Big 8 and 12? I know UT, BU, TT & TAM are far away but those are also warmer weather locations in late fall. Will Husker fans want to go to Purdue or IU in November - it's one thing to drive to ISU, MO, KU or KSU they are close.

They won't be able to travel as well to PSU, UM, OSU, UW, or Iowa. Minnesota, MSU, Purdue, IU, NW, and Illinois should have TONS of nebby fans.

I think they'll end up regreting everything but the money. I don't think they'll see the success they think and the nonmarque rivalries aren't interesting as they aren't border states. I just can't see neb fans getting as jacked to play pudue as say mizzou and osu. They are giving up 5 border rivalries and 2 more regional rivalries including a historic rival in ou. In exchange they get Iowa and what they hope are marque matchups with mich, osu, and psu.

Like roaches, they will find their way into any stadium they want to attend. Their ability to find/secure tickets is pretty well-known.

That's just how they are. They seem to save up all year for this sort of thing. They'll travel everywhere, and they'll get in.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

They'll be marque matchups and the Iowa vs Nebraska game will be one of the most intriguing new matchups in the nation.

It all depends on if they are winning or not.

The distance will keep alot of them away, but they will still have a strong following.

I'm not sure in the "nation" but in the region I think it will be. With Iowa's success over the last decade and Nebby's history they will get some attention from the big networks.

Umm... No. It's a border rivalry, nothing more. It won't be any bigger than Mizzou/Kansas. Don't flatter yourself, just because the Rag is trying to talk it up.

    Re: Nebby Travel Rep

I live in the South, and many have commented down here in Louisiana about how great an Iowa-Nebraska matchup will be over Thanksgiving weekend. Seems many down here think it should be a great game every year, and many are looking forward to it. Given I'm in the heart of LSU (SEC) country, I think that thought would have to be fairly widespread. It's not like I have Iowa/Nebby homers surroudning me....I get the unfortunate experience of being surrounded by Tiger fans. They make Iowa/Nebby fans look like logical and sane people

    Re: Nebby Travel Rep

First off, I'm really not sure if what you see is Nebraska fans travelling well. I think a good part of it is the fact that Nebraska has a large national fanbase. I would guess the majority of the husker fans you saw at JTS last weekend were not Nebraska season ticket holders. Just think of how many husker fans you live by, work with, see around town all over Iowa. I know I see them all around the KC area. Those great years of Nebraska football have created a lot of tavern huskers who don't live anywhere near Nebraska. I would imagine there are more than enough in the Big 10 states to buy up some tickets.

Also, don't let your cardinal and gold colored glasses get in the way. The iowa nebraska game will be huge. You have a border game, a key conference matchup, and a very big name school in nebraska. Iowa has been a top fifteen team for a decade now, and it looks like Nebraska has it rolling along again too. Secondhand ticket prices for this game will be insane, and the national media is going to give it plenty of attention. It won't just be coming from the Rag.

Kinnick better be ready, if Iowa does not make a BCS bowl this season expect a lot of fan drop off over the next couple seasons. I mean this is their first season of selling out ever.

I think nebraska will still travel well but i think the ability to get tickets will be much harder.

I haven't read the entire thread, but Nebraska fans will travel to the ends of the earth to see the Cornhuskers play.
