    Arnaud the Cyclone...

"Great call," Arnaud said. "It will be ridiculed and whatever by the public, and you know, I could care less what the public thinks. We're in this thing together, and I'm with [Rhoads]. I've never played for a man like him ... I have all the confidence in him the world in him, and there's no way nobody on this team doesn't."

Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Iowa State Cyclones - Recap - November 06, 2010 - ESPN

On a scale of 1 to 10, sometimes I can rate his performance a 6 and sometimes a 9 but when it comes to being a cyclone he'll aways be a 10. Even though I may cringe we he throws and interception, I'll rarely criticize because I know he's one of us.

I purchased his #4 jersey t-shirt at the beginning of season and have worn it to all but one of the 6 ISU games I've attended. I plan on wearing this t-shirt next year and beyond even after he graduates, knowing I'll be wearing the number of a true Cyclone.

    Go I-State.

    Re: Arnaud the Cyclone...

There is no doubt that AA is going to go down as one of the greatest cyclones ever. How ISU ever replaces him next year, I have no idea. His leadership alone is worth a couple wins.

Seeing CPR, AA, and Arob beat Mizzou in 2 weeks is going to be a sweet, sweet moment.

It won't be easy but I think they'll get it done.

    Re: Arnaud the Cyclone...

It'll be interesting to see how Arnaud is remembered by Cyclone fans. I get the impression that more people dislike him as a player than like him.

However, everyone has forgotten about all the INTs and terrible games from Seneca Wallace, so who knows.

I've always liked the way he plays the game. He makes a handful of utterly bone-headed plays about every game, but the way he just punishes people when he runs, fights through pain, and is extremely resilient has endeared him. I can't help but like a guy who is as hard-nosed as Arnaud.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

If we go and win a bowl game this year, his legacy will be greater that it would be if we fail to make it to a bowl.

I swear atleast once or twice a game I'm cussing him and then 2 or 3 plays later he throws his nose in the pile for a couple extra yards and I'm gald we've got a gutsy guy like him playing QB. He's definately had an up and down career and Cyclone fans will remember him in many ways but I think all can agree he's a class act and as tough a kid as we've had at any position in a long time.

Well said. Hard not to like a guy with a heart and motor like him.

    THIS

Arnaud's play has been great over the last three games. He's been making some great throws...all three of his TD passes were spot on the money. Keep it up Austin! We've got three wins left to go!

Great, great post. AA embodies everything that we want Cyclone players to be: a leader, dedication, and belief in what this coaching staff is doing. He isn't the most athletic quarterback we've ever had, but the kid has heart and some incredible resiliency for shaking things off - what he did in that 4th quarter yesterday was nothing short of incredible. I sure hope someone will be able to fill his shoes over the next few years.

If he can eliminate some of his mistakes, we will be a very tough football team to beat.

Our four stars on offense - Arnaud, Jake Williams, Arob, Lemaak - are all McCarney recruits.
It will be interesting who takes their places next year.

    Re: Arnaud the Cyclone...

He's a home town kid that, despite his athletic limitations, will leave everything on the field every single game. You'd be hard up to find a Cyclone that's given more of themself for the team. Despite what kind of game he has, he also tends to be a pretty good quarterback in the clutch. He kind of reminds me of the offensive version of Jesse Smith.
