    Reaction to Loss

What was all of your immediate reactions to the game today? I went into the other room to chill out and I am man enough to admit that there were a couple of tears in my eyes. You can laugh at me all you want but I was emotionally wrapped up in that game. One last question: Does god/fate have something against ISU?

    Re: Reaction to Loss

It was definitely brutal, but didn't hit me as bad as the 05 loss to Kansas. I was seriously in depression for about 2 weeks after that one - couldn't eat, couldn't sleep... all that fun stuff.

I just sat there, watched jo pa get his 400th win....cause thats what it switched to.
I think that everything happens for a reason.

    Re: Reaction to Loss

I just stood there. Didn't really move for several minutes while I was trying to wrap my head around what had just happened. The walk back home from JTS helped me calm down a lot.

I haven't ever wanted us to win a game that bad. I wanted that game more than KU and MU. All were terrible losses anyway and IDK how I will recover from a loss like that. Maybe a W against CU would help.

    Re: Reaction to Loss

I was probably stunned at first, considering we got so close. But shortly after, like a few minutes, I realized that we played one heck of a game. I think this win shows that we are not a push over, which is going to be important for next year.

    Re: Reaction to Loss

It was about as emotionally draining as the KSU loss last year, it doesn't hurt as bad as that loss now though.

    Re: Reaction to Loss

I was screaming with my dad in front of the tv after we got the williams td, then my heart sunk when i saw daniel rolling out on the fake. It gets picked and I stand there for a few minutes with my hands over my mouth waiting for a flag or something that never came. I kept telling myself that it wasn't happening.

Couldn't agree more. Gives these kids confidence heading into the future. As disappointed as I am I could not be prouder of the effort the boys gave today. I can't imagine how they felt after this loss.

Colin Franklin took it very hard *** he stayed on the ground after the play.

I was pretty excited, Franklin was open...then the throw.

Oh well, gave them too many TO's, missed FG, team effort.

    Re: Reaction to Loss

    2004 Mizzou = 2005 Kansas = 2010 Nebraska

Today was a much different team from 5 years ago though. This team has balls. Plus, you could just feel the energy in JTS. That place would have exploded if that is a better pass.

Everything just felt surreal. I kept asking myself if it was a dream. There has literally been a feeling of emptiness that still hasn't left my heart. I may be taking this too hard but it just feels like a part of me died inside.
