We are watching the football culture change

right before our very eyes. I really think that some day you will be able to point to this year and say THAT'S when it changed.

Whether it is after a few terrible losses or a terrible quarter or a couple of bad throws....our team doesn't give in and doesn't give up.

We no longer play not to lose. We play to win. We take chances (but don't read taking chances as making random plays, our chances are things that we see in game film and we prepare for). Sometimes those work and sometimes they don't. But we no longer only run on teams with good pash rush. And we no longer run, run, run when we have a lead. We trust our players to make the plays.

Paul Rhoads is turning this program into one that BELIEVES they can and will win.

I am sad tonight and it almost makes me sick everytime I think of what could have been, but that was a hell of a game and I could not be more proud to be witnessing what I am witnessing. And I would love to know what goes on in that locker room because it is clear that those players would run through a wall for their coach.

I think this is easily the post of the night.

You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment.

The moral: you gain more by not being stupid, than you do by being smart. Smart gets neutralized by other smart people. Stupid does not.

agree with everything (especially the post of the night part).

These are not our old-school Cyclones. They are going to make a run at this conference, and they aren't scared of anybody.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Couldn't agree more....I'm sick that we lost this game...(I was having visions of a rematch with Mizzou for the north in the 4th qtr) but this game was different than all the other heart-breakers we've had over the years. We went down swinging tonight, going for the win...and I can live with that. This team never quits, and they've had plenty of opportunities to this year. I've never been prouder to be a Cyclone and this program is heading for special things in the future.

Yep I have never been more excited for ISU football. CPR and this staff has us going in the right direction. There is no doubt in my mind.

Great summary. At least we went down going for the win. This was all heart. I love it, and embrace the pain of defeat.
These guys actually will grow from it, and probably be better for the last two games. Suffering builds character, and character builds hope.

Re: We are watching the football culture change

Coach Rhoads says it is about TRUST. I didn't trust that we could pull it together in Austin after getting shelled against Utah and OU. I didn't trust that we could over come the first half agaisnt KU. I didn't trust that we could pick our selves off the mat after going down 14 points in the 3rd. I trust the team now.

I trust even though our history in Boulder is full of pot holes the team will play hard and put themselves in a position to win. If they do not come out on top. I trust that they can come back home and beat Mizzou.

The times I use to find myself shaking may head and closing my eyes in disgust I find myself cheering and confident that these Cyclones will win.

    Yes.

Normally I'd be afraid going into Boulder. Not with this team and this staff.

Big things are coming for ISU football in the very near future.

Exactly. Sometimes it isn't necessarily the wins that make a team and program (culture) grow it's the heart breaking losses. We've had our share but this one feels different. I hope this loss doesn't discourage the team but does the opposite. It makes them angry and hungrier.

I agree, I don't know if we will win 3 or 2 or 1 or 0 more games this year. But that won't change my opinion that things are a'changing around here.

Rhoads really articulated it when we played Texas Tech during the halftime interview. And he's kept articulating it.

And while the wins are huge, it's not the wins that are making this culture change. It's the whole thing, the whole picture.
