    End of the series

I am glad that over the last decade that ISU was able to take an otherwise lopsided series and end it as a rivalry...

    Re: End of the series

Honestly, I'm kind of sad that the series is over now. The last 10 years has been more or less competitive, especially the past 2 years. I think it'd be fun to watch grow in the new era... but alas, Nebraska is a bunch of quitters and won't let us play with their ball anymore...

    Re: End of the series

The one thing I will miss from nebby is having the Jack packed, even if there is alot of nebby fans. Other than the Iowa game not sure we will see crowds like this again. ISU fans find too many excuses not to come to games to pack the house.

Concerns me some for our budget.

    Re: End of the series

you look over the last decade, this has been a rivalry. Each team had a dominant game or two and each team can trade jabs and say we should have won a game because of this.

I don't know if you're going to have to worry about that, actually. I think that as our team becomes better, we're going to have a lot more sell out crowds. If we get to be a top 25 team in the next few years, I can see the Jack being packed. We may not have the most fans in the state, but they come out in force for big games.

Good example here is Hilton. Attendance has been shaky the past few years, but when the team is good, you don't have enough seats in the area...

Yep. And I'd add that having UT and OK come around The Jack more often will help fill the Nebby void.

With Rhoads here, I wouldn't be surprised in a few years if EVERY game is packed.

    Re: End of the series

Losing this series sucks for me. I loved playing Nebby and getting the chance to knock them off home or away. I will not be shocked if Nebby never comes back to Ames in my lifetime. Btw Im not quite 30.

If there's a way to end a series in style, this game was a grand finale.

But I actually agree with CYCRAZY on this, and it's a feeling I didn't expect to have today. Now that it's over, I miss the series. There have been some epic moments over the last few years.

Good point - we lose Nebby every other year but get either UT or OU every year along with TAM, KSU, and OSU all of whom may not travel as well as Nebby but travel very well. I love the true round robin schedule.
