You do not need a QB for that fake. Every player on a major college university should be able to throw the ball ten yards somewhat accurate.

Re: Is the holder a quarterback on the team

If you put in a back up qb dont you think the other team would notice? Dont you think that maybe they practice this play a hundred times in practice and the guy can throw? A little short sighted by the ones calling out the idea to put in another holder. It was a great call that the guy got excited about. Put yourself in that position and tell me how you would do!

Re: Is the holder a quarterback on the team

Bruns just said on post game from his vantage point -- in the end zone -- the holder didn't get a good handle on the ball after it was snapped so not a real crisp throw. The holder is no goat -- gutsy call and darn proud of him and the whole ISU football program.

You think they haven't practiced it? If you put in a backup QB you're giving it away. IMO, that pass is complete without the headwind.

That play isnt why we lost. That play is why we almost won though.

Except that there WAS a headwind and it's not like it hadn't been there all game. It may have been a good call, however, terrible selection of personnel. Arnaud was having trouble completeing touch passes into that wind and you ask a backup punter to do that? I would've much rather he either had Tiller holding or just lined up with the offense and went for two. We lost the game with our top athletes on the sidelines. It makes no sense to me that he kneeled on the ball with the wind at our backs and three timeouts at the end of regulation only to call what, in my mind, was a far riskier play. If we kick the PAT we get the ball again WITH the wind. Offense gets to stay on the field and they had some rythm going.

Totally Agree. Great call by CPR....we just didn't execute. I wil bet that a lot of eyes were opened today.....even more than the win at Texas. I'm Proud To Be One!

A win at Texas and having the chance to knock off the 7th ranked team in the nation with a gutsy call. I wasnt expecting much this year with our schedule and all but I couldnt be more proud to be an ISU fan. When was the last time we played this well against teams this good in the same year? Walden had his one win miracles but Rhoads has done it twice in a year and three times in the last two. Bring on the Buffs.

I agree, the call was gutsy, but no way is Nebraska a top ten team without Martinez.
