    5-Players on a watch list

Five ISU Players to Watch | Husker Locker

I would have figured at least one of the wonder twins at LB would have been on the list

For whatever reason neither of the two get much love outside of Iowa and/or David Ubben. After the Texes game Chip Brown made some tweet about how UT messed up by not attacking the horrible linebackers of ISU.

Hopefully kNU won't be watching for them either.

TFL and sacks are not very big with those two and our defense is not good. Because of that people outside of ISU tend to think our LBs are slow and are makign tackles downfield. The reality is they are getting blocked and getting off blocks to make those tackles.

Re: 5-Players on a watch list

Their tackle numbers may be slightly inflated due to our lack of depth at linebacker (they're in for almost every play), and the fact that opposing teams have been running a lot of plays against us.

There's more to playing good defense than just making the tackle. If the linebacker makes the tackle every play, but the opponent gets 5 yards every time, that's not good defense.
