    All time losers list

Foxsports.com has this good read about the top 10 losers in sports history. A very familiar name is at number 10.

I agree that he's not a great pro coach, but a "satisfactory" college coach??? I don't get it. Look at what he has done at every college he has been a head coach at...including present USC, they had a great team this year.

Is Tim one of the worst in the NBA? Yeah, I can see that.

But on the Top 10 worst in all sports? Please...that's laughable.

I agree with sclotz. How can Floyd be on the top ten biggest losers in sports history? USC will be a power in basketball in the next few years. He is a phenomenal recruiter and a solid coach.

What happened to Eddie "the Eagle" Edwards. Dude crashed every time he ski jumped. I tuned into the Olympics when ever he was getting ready to jump just to see the crash.

Is that Jeremy's big news? A new sports column?

    Re: All time losers list

I don't think Floyd was even that bad in the NBA, he had some terrible teams but look at the personnel decisions the Bulls made... Weren't a couple of his New Orleans teams pretty decent considering the lack of talent they had?

Didnt Tim inherit a crappy Bulls team anyway? So it had to be hard for him. I dont suppose he really had a buzz surrounding him either. I havent really been a fan of Tims, but I think he will do very well at USC.

    Re: All time losers list

I have always said that the NBA was a terrible fit for Floyd. What he was always great at was designing a defense that would stop the top 2 or 3 scorers on the other team and let the other guys try and beat you. He usually employed some type of junk defense that NBA teams can't use. In the NBA everyone can score.

    Re: All time losers list

That is not really fair. Timmy got a raw deal going to the NBA. The entire team they had built around Jordan left and boom Tim is the coach. Ok coach here ya go, you have 10 reject players no one wanted and a city that hates you because they see you as the reason the greatest bball player of all time left. Have fun! let us know how it goes for you.

    Re: All time losers list

Tim never got a fair chance in the NBA. Jerry Krause gave him teams that would be lucky to beat the teams that made the NCAA sweet 16. Then with the Hornets he did a good job with at team that had injury problems and they still made the playoffs at 41-41 but they canned him anyways even after losing after 7 games in the 1st round. They have not won 41 games or more since then either and actually were 18-64 the following year.

Tim is much better suited to coach the college ranks though.

Tim got a fair chance. He knew what he was going into. He took the Jordanless bulls. Michael said he would not play for Tim Floyd. Also he took the New Orleans job knowing there were no players there. So he got a fair chance. He just took stupid chances. No doubt that he will make USC a power though.

    Re: All time losers list

I'm a Bulls fan and I remember even Tim calling out Jerry Krause how even after they gutted the dynasty team Krause had promised him he'd build a team with good players that Floyd would be able to win with. Name me the players Krause brought in that were any good. I bet you'd have a hard time finding more than 5 and Paxson has cleaned house entirely since then on top of it. Elton Brand, Ron Artest, Eddy Curry, and Tyson Chandler are about the only ones that play a significant role on their teams and Krause was even dumb enough to trade the best one away (Brand) for the worst one (Chandler) in that list. Then when he did finally clear room to get some good players, Tim Duncan, Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady, and Eddie Jones all signed elsewhere and the best he could do was Ron Mercer, Brad Miller, and Eddie Robinson. The rest of the team were basically guys that would be lucky to be the 12th man on the roster on a good team but with the Bulls some of them played significant minutes. So I don't blame Floyd for the Bulls mess, he was promised more and Krause screwed him over by never giving him a team that could win which eventually came back to bite Krause as well.

He had some talent with the Hornets and even an injured team he still took that team to the playoffs. But again, I'm glad he's back in college ranks because that is where he is at his best.
