Disgusting the disdain the Rag has for ISU.

I've always that skydiving would be a good way to go.

Listening to ISU beat Nebraska, surrounded by friends and family sound a lot better. Great story.

Re: Father's Final Hours Spent Cheering Cyclones

Wow, what a cool story. Thanks to the author who sent in the memory to the Register.

"I think that people are responding to someone standing up and saying this is what we want to do and let's not be afraid to go for it,'' Pollard said. "I think Iowa State has a very conservative, modest background. We never pound our chest and say `Let's do it.' It's OK to set a goal. You can't do it if you don't say what you want to do. You should be proud of it.''

Re: Father's Final Hours Spent Cheering Cyclones

I agree. That's a great story and something that the family can treasure forever.

The Register followed it up today with a husker's favorite memory being the '97 game where Nebraska could have named the score against a ridiculously overwhelmed ISU team. He made his wife and her friends, all ISU fans, sit through the majority of the game which Neb ended up winning 77-14. It didn't quite have the same touching, family feel that the original did. Odd.

Why would the Register care about a Husker fan's favorite memory?

I'm sure I will get the same tired response "Well, there are a lot of Nebraska fans living in the state."

My father in-law attended the Colorado 'tornado' game with me...and died soon after. I miss him very much..and that memory is priceless.

I still carry his watch to games and rub it for good luck.
