Arrow Poll: Cy a good name for a baby?

NOTE: We're not having a baby!

We've had names picked out for whenever we decide to have kids for quite some time now but I got to thinking, who here would have a problem with naming their son "Cy"?

Isaac has been the leading name for our son for quite some time but Cy has a certain ring to it. After the Mrs shot that down pretty quickly, I thought I'd turn to the board for your input:)

Not to persuade you otherwise, but my Rott is named CY.

Unless he comes out with red feathers and a beak, I would say no

What about Cy Young, that name did not turn out too bad.

Re: Poll: Cy a good name for a baby?

I would have to say "no". If he were growing up outside any household that wasn't a fan of any teams from Iowa, I would have to say it's not a bad name. However, growing up named after your favorite mascot for your favorite team would be a bit weird to me. :)

There was a guy on my dorm floor named Cy...great guy. If you aren't sure, make Cy his middle name.

Re: Poll: Cy a good name for a baby?

I wouldn't suggest Cy as a name, but whatever floats your boat.
My one year old's name is James Isaac. So I too am a big fan of the name Isaac.

    Cy?

I think you should let your wife choose the names of your kids...just a thought.

Re: Poll: Cy a good name for a baby?

Well I tried for his middle name but I'm still having to convince her. I guess it'll probably just have to be his official nick-name or some dumb thing like that. Women, they always get their way. OUCH, she just hit me...

Try a workaround like Psi or Sigh.

I believe the name Cyler, Cyler Sanderson, in the Celtic language is pronounced like "Siler", thus Cy for short.

Short for Cyrus? Kind of an old fashioned name but I've heard plenty worse!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
